Tom' 0:0 Lokomotiv
Terek 1:0 CSKA (Adamov 29)
Dinamo 1:2 Zenit (Danni 32 - Spivak 23, Kerzhakov 64)
Alania 2:0 Krylya Sovetov (D. Bazaev 45+2, Dadu 79)

Rubin 0:0 Saturn
Rostov 1:1 Torpedo (Peres 32 - Zyryanov 63)

Top Scorers:

8(2) - Kirichenko (Moskva)
7(0) - Pavlyuchhenko (Spartak)
7(1) - Arshavin (Zenit)
7(2) - Derlei (Dinamo)
7(4) - Olic (CSKA)
6(2) - Loskov (Lokomotiv)
5(0) - D. Bazaev (Alania)
5(1) - Cavenaghi (Spartak)

Best Goals:

There are very few goals this round because of the stupid-a$$ schedule. I consider Spivak's free kick a good one. Also, the Brakamonte one is amusing :-P Check out the defenders falling on each other it's rather hilarious. Spartak sucks and I love it! :hump:

News:

- Lokomotiv played its 25th game without a defeat after a 0:0 deadlock with Tom'

- Kerzhakov, whose last game was in June against Lokomotiv is back after his injury and already scoring goal. He scored the winning goal for Zenit in the game against Dinamo on the 64th minute. I'm sure his best is yet to come.

- Leonid Sluczkoi, Moskva's new promising coach started his career as head coach with a win against Spartak, completely outplaying the opponent. The coach is famous for turning Moskva's reserve team from one that is near the bottom of the table to the champion of the reserve league in one season. He also did well with Uralan's reserve as well. He has never coached the main team of any club yet.

- CSKA would be behind Lokomotiv even if it won the four games it's missing after the disappointing defeat by the lowest team in the league, Terek Grozny. Great win for the Chechens, btw, I really hope they do better, they really should not be on the bottom of table.

- Krylya Sovetov continues to sell its best player as their defender Anyukov is signed by Zenit. He chose number 44 (my favorite number holy crap!!!!) in his new club.

That is all for now folks. :rockman:

Sorry man. I know how you spell it in Russian :-P

FC Moskva is the complete name. They used to be FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moscow until the mayor of Moscow bought the club and named it aptly FC Moskva. I guess the full name is FC Moskva Moskva, but that's just ridiculous.

How is Vagner doing at CSKA? I've been reading rumours for the last 2 months he may come back to Brazil, but I have no idea if that's still going on...

Surfy, I will answer your question about what Metallurg means :ewan:
"Metall" simply means metal, and "Metallurg" is the person that works in the metal industry. So many teams in E. Europe have this name because, there are a lot big regions where the main industry is steel making. Thats why they have this name. Extually in Ukraine Premiere League there are two teams with name "Metallurg" :jambo: ......

the cska site sucks. loko has a better page now that they remade it.

Vagner is doing crappy. In fact, CSKA is doing crappy as a team. Vagner has been good, but I don't think he's been living up to the expectations. Problem with him is that he hates playing in Russia and wants to leave, but CSKA can't find a good replacement for him. They don't have any forwards, save Olic, who IMHO is utter crap, and Krasic, who also hasn't shown any amazing skill except for missing the goal in 100% chances 20 times in a row (aka UEFA Cup final). They sold Kirichenko, which was stupid as hell, cuz he's now the top scorer for Moskva. So, obviously, Vagner is the only decent forward on the team and CSKA ain't letting him go. But he's definitely not worth the money, probably because of his not wanting to play in Russia, so I bet he'll leave as soon as CSKA finds a decent replacement for him.

you can find worked industry names in any eastern european country. Torpedo, i believe, was an automobile industry, Shaktar Donetsk was formed by the mining industry in Donetsk. Spartak was some sort of communist organisation. CSKA is obviously the army. Shinnik comes from the word "shina" which is a tire. Guess what they made. Names that baffle me are Rubin and Krylya Sovetov. I have no idea where those came from.

Update:

Postponed Match from RPL Round 6:

I will update the table in a sec and I'll post the video links when they come (and if they're worth watching)

Thanks for the info... it looks like Corinthians have given up on him, so I guess he'll be staying at CSKA....

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Karyaka progresses through the season. I've only seen him play briefly for Benfica, but he already showed some quality technique and aggressivness.

Well today Vagner was so pissed at the CSKA coach for being subbed out that he didn't even shake the coach's hand. Rumors are Sporting are looking at him, as well as some other european teams. A player of his caliber is definitely not going to stay unnoticed. So I bet he's getting sold.

Kruglov did play briefly. He hasn't been introduced into the starting team yet (if he ever will be - the competition is higher than ever before), so I'm thinking the plan is to use him more often during the Champions League campaign. I saw him play - he was very impressive. The guy is very strong and has a good sense of the field. He knows what to do with the ball, and he sure can tackle. I think he's one of the better tacklers on the team - he waits for the forward to make the move and then takes the ball away, very impressive. He has a pretty good shot, too. This guy can do really well when Loko goes to Europe.

Karyaka had a slump when Krylya Sovetov began its slump this season. Obviously, the atmosphere in the team affected him grealy. He IS a very good player. He scored 20 something goals last season for Krylya (a lot from free kicks, too). He has some really good dribbling and team work - example can be seen in the Estonia-Russia game (the one that we won 4-0 or 4-1 or something). Karyaka dribbled on the left past a defender, then turned and went into the box, dribbled past 2 more defenders and had a pretty decent shot at the goal, but he saw Izmailov dead-on in the center of the box, so he passed to Izmailov instead and the guy shot it in. I'm not talking about his amazing free kicks (he scored a goal from a free kick that game as well) - Benfica should let him take some once in a while. Anyway, the guy is a powerhouse in top form, and I think he's old enough for this move, so I think he will get even better as the season progresses (fingers crossed). Really looking forward to seeing him kick a$$ for the NT.

I'm just quoting what he said a couple of months ago.

By the way, I hope Loko goes far this year in the CL. I remember we were in the same group as you guys a couple of years ago. :p :(
