Sacked By Barnet...Cos I Was In Debt!?

I was 17,000 odd in debt and i get sacked. I had got them from League 2 (champions) through every season as champions with losing a lot of games. Then this season, i go all the way through till December 20th (which is my birthday in real life) play Blackburn, win 5-0 then i get sacked! I hadn't lost this season apart from Juventus 2 - 1 Barnet in the Champions League. I won 6-0 twice in 1 month, 0-6 at Bolton and 0-6 at Fulham. I don't see why i should have been sacked because of debt.

I actually feel heartbroken. I love Barnet to pieces, and putting them through all them leagues made me more pationate with Fifa. When i went into bad spells during League One, i would cheer when i got a throw in. Now i am with Ipswich Town and it doesn't feel the same.

Anyone else had this problem? And do you think Barnet will come back to me next season asking if i can go back? Cos i really hope so, even though i have tried to get 3 players from Barnet since my sacking.

Even if you win the champions league, your home league, your home cup and the national lottery (no actualy not that one) you will get sacked if you are too long in debt. And yes, the game gives no warning about this.

That is really annoying. I put out my poorest team, the players who play for tupence and then my security went up from 7 to 12 (yes, it got THAT bad) and i thought 'finally, getting somewhere' then i pressed X and it said 'ITS OVER! Barnet have sacked manager Joe Royle' thanks mate!

Will Barnet come back for me in the later seasons?

I have no idea if they'll want you back, but unless you are really far into your career I would reroll and restart checking the finances very closely. I wish EA had put in a warning system for this kind of situations, where you have the feeling you're doing well but get fired because you stayed too long in the red :/

Oh i got plenty of warnings, i got so many that it is funny looking back on it, but at the time i thought it was a pathetic glitch with the game. I remember at the start of the season i had 55,000 cos i won FA Cup, Carling Cup, Premier League, UEFA Cup. Then i splashed most of it trying to buy Carrick, Nolan and other players. Forgot who, i think i got Parkin that year from Ipswich also. He was doing poorly, then scored 3 in 3 games, then i get sacked! So hes coming back to me for Ipswich.

I am now with Ipswich Town, and this will be the 7th season.

Nah, i just got Grazioli from Barnet, trying for Pederson. Going to bring down Barnet piece by piece and get Ipswich promoted. I haven't done so well with a club on Fifa in ages since i've come to Ipswich.

Ipswich 2 - 0 Derby
Oldham 0 - 3 Ipswich
Ipswich 7 - 2 Southampton (Grazioli's first game, scored 4 goals)
Blackburn 1 - 4 Ipswich (Grazioli got a hat-trick i think)
Ipswich 1 - 0 Nottingham Forest (Grazioli scored. Hardest game i have played, suprisingly. Very well matched)

Shame it wont work for me. Using PS2. Just played Sheffield United. I won 3-2, but that was bloody hard. First goal by Graz was a bundle in, literally a bundle in. Everyone seemed to fall over the keeper and the ball finally came off of Graz's foot and went in. Then they got a fantastic goal, then they got another cheap goal, 2-1. I then had to push extreamly hard. Graz scored another 2. Hat-trick for him. Great signing. Just bought Freddy Eastwood from Southend for a heck of a lot. 6,500 or something

I like to play with Chester City in the career mode. What game difficulty are you playing with Sanchez04 'cause it looks like you have just demolished the 72 teams in the English lower league to be playing Champions League already.

Isn't staying out of debt part of good management though? Just a thought.

Point taken, but alot of owners of teams in any league or sport, be it hockey, soccer, or basketball, lose money. They own them because they gain money when they use their team as a tax right off when tax time comes around.

That could work, if the debt is small. If the debt is in the many millions of dollars, and you are only supposed to pay a million in taxes, then you obviously can't write off the full amount of the debt. And if it's an income tax, then the only way you could successfully write off the full amount of the debt is if you actually made enough money to owe such a huge tax bill. If you made so much money, then why are you in debt? Another thing, in general one needs to justify a tax write off with something concrete, not just "i'm in debt". Unless you file for bunkruptcy, you still owe your creditors the money you borrowed to pay your expenses. And if you manage to drive a team into bankruptcy, then you should have no complaints when they sack you.

That's why it's debt. It doesn't magically go away. And to think that a video game would take tax write offs into consideration is ridiculous.

I just loan/sell my players to keep my squad to a minimum of 18. Da player wages are sucking the green out of the club

Alright calm down now, wasn't like I was trying to make you look like a fool. It's just not logical that if a team is the hole even say by 500 credits in Fifa but is first in the standings that a manager would get sacked.
