So yeah I tried reading a few blog entries today.. No offense but they're like the most boring thing I've read all week.

There has been quite a few well thought out posts in threads discussing things in the soccer forum.. which are alot better read than the blogs imo..

I actually offered to help and add to the SG blogs a few months ago, but I never got any response. :coffe-anim:

Yeah some of them are a little self-indulgent, but they aren't too bad really. I'm technically a professional journalist, so if someone gives me a real-life topic i'll write one, i just can't be bothered to think of an actual story in the first place.

Damn my work rate :(

Then don't read them. :coffe-anim::coffe-anim::coffe-anim: Someone else will.

Their quality might improve with time. Shooting them down at the start will prevent any such thing from happening.

I'm not saying the quality of the entries are bad. It's just that the content is not too interesting and has no spark whatsoever. I don't think many would care about the intricate details of how some guy is progressing in a game regardless of how well the piece is written and presented. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

I'd love to, but I don't think anyone here cares about exegetical theology, theistic existentialism, coalition formation in the European Parliament or MLS.

Maybe coalition formation in the European Parliament. Is that your concentration?

It's one of my main research interests, along with nationalism/Euroskepticism in the EP and voting behavior in EP elections. Basically, anything EP-related is my bread and butter. It's a pretty narrow focus, but I've noticed that in life it's better to know a lot about something than a little bit about everything.

It is, I'm a "Carlos of all trades, master of none". Gets me nowhere.

Particularly for an academic. You can be the "preeminent scholar" on some small point, but your research and work will get cited by everyone.

My suggestion would be to pick "Caribbean party culture" as your main area of research, but traveling to Europe is good too. Eskimo historians are idiots.

Precisely my line of thinking, Shifty.
