What about the classic SG draft?

to be honest, classic SG draft doesn't make sense ... we can't simulate in FIFA or any other game and voting would be very chaotic ...

Screw you kp. I mean, hell, we can even use whoscored throughout the 14/15 season to evaluate the draft if we want.

I'm not going to be around in the month of August, so let's plan on starting the SG Draft September 10-15.

I was happy with 6th but ended 11th.

At least 11 is my favorite number...

11/10 would do again

Props to Massive for holding it down like a boss.

We should make the classic SG draft with this draft rules so we don't know the champion until May.

I think I'll probably end up scoring the draft like this, but it's just one way. If Ronaldo blows out his knee tomorrow he should still be a top pick, but if we say that whoscored is the only way we're scoring the Draft, he will never get picked. I like using the draft as a yearly barometer for who are the best players in the world. I also like that the voting keeps our formations realistic. If you try to trot out a stupid formation with all attacking midfielders and no one in defense, we'll kick you out in the group stage.

E: There's also a problem with guys like Shaqiri, Rafinha, etc who are stars and should be in these All-Star teams, but they don't play much for their clubs, so why draft them if it's purely whoscored.

E2: It also doesn't give match ratings for leagues that we use. Not just like MLS with 1 player, but for Portugal.

I think there's a misunderstanding between "the classic SG draft" and a "SG Classic draft", if you will, here.

:jap:Love you fili, I thought Xaviesta is talking about the draft with classic players ...

There's got to be away to add something else to the voting (and only, nowadays) stage that makes the usual Draft more interesting and less based on personal opinions. Whoscored stats would be great but like Shifty pointed out it only features the main competitions and there are a lot of selectable players from less glamorous leagues.

Maybe skip the ratings and give bonus points for matches played (all players), goals scored (mifielders and forwards), and clean sheets (defenders and keepers). It's all I could come up with right now :(

I recently read that there is a sports agency/company that gives ratings on player's performances and they are said to be quite well done. Anyone heard of this or if it's public? Not whoscored. They would of course have to cover most leagues...

The other issue is that player ratings are going to be standardized throughout each league. So I could theoretically win by drafting the 11 best MLS players.

True. Current system still might be the best way to go.

But I still think having so many subs is a waste of time. We could have four subs that would need to cover all 11 positions. I barely look at people's benches, first 11 is much more important.
