I suspect Key highlights could really speed up my game. I think SI has slowed down the non-highlight game speed. I used to be that minutes would fly by and if there were no highlights you could finish a half in maybe 30 seconds or less. Now it seems like it advances very slowly and ticks every 15 seconds off the clock.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It seems to be ages between highlights even on key.

I switched to key tonight and the games are cut in half, which is speeding up the process, but the game is still slow.

I actually find there is too much to do.

Press conferences before and after every game, the amount of detail that can go into training, speaking to players, meetings etc etc.

But the issue is, if I play a simplified version I feel like it's not realistic because that stuff is missing.

This is exactly the sentiment I've had with FM over the past 2-3 years. It's probably the most important reason why I don't play anymore, besides getting a job and a girlfriend.

I think SI know this - which is why they have the classic mode, and the touch mode etc.

The issue is the psychology of knowing the game has more depth, but not doing it. You should be able to switch mid games. Like during transfer windows I might go to the full detail mode, then during season I want to skip all of that stuff and just go simple mode. The remainder is auto-piloted - but not "done by my assistant, which then says I'm a hands off manager etc.
