Why dont you celebrate it? Are you Jewish? If you're not celebrating it just to be ironic then you are a dick.

I got so drunk yesterday I dont remember going to bed, always awkward getting drunk in front of the family. But I just ate a fat boxing day steak so I am happy

So what? Most people who celebrate it aren't Christian... in Britain anyway....

It's not even really a Christian festival, it was a Roman festival before it became 'Christmas'

I've been an atheist for several years now, but always celebrate it, mostly think of it as a family festivity, dressing up, eating good food and opening presents, well lush

Exactly. I think most Australians see it the same. As a time to spend with family, give gifts, eat, drink and relax

New Zealand version not much different than that.

I usually fly up to where the rest of the family are on Xmas eve and stay for a week or so. Mostly involves plenty of food and drink and beach and the lie. There is about 20 of us so the day itself is pretty full on especially when others visit later in the day. Boxing Day is recovery day that involves doing as little as possible.

I like the fact it is traditional to start drinking at 10am.
