Gol TV, Inc. has sublicensed the Spanish Primera Division (a.k.a. "La Liga") match of the week to Cablevision Systems Corporation for exclusive distribution in high definition on Rush HD.

Due to prior programming commitments, Rush HD will not air these games until after the Spanish Primera Division season is over.

Anyone ever heard of Rush HD??? I hope GolTV still gets the best La Liga matches.

BTW check out www.Soccertv.tv It looks like it will be an interesting site in the future.

It's one match a week.

Who cares?

Stick with Dish network which has the entire GolTV channel, and you get almost every single La Liga game.

I already have GolTV with Cablevision, so no problems here. I was curious as to what Rush HD was since they mention Cablevision in the article.

Gol TV sub-license their La Liga game of the week? Does that mean they'll still carry the game if they want to or not?

Ok thoses games are in HD(High Definition with 5.1 surround sound) and where on VOOM's Worldsport-HD channel, but since VOOM(part of Cablevison) shutdown it's satelite business it offered the HD channels to DISH but could not have Worldsports included yet in the deal yet so they moved only the LaLiga matches to RushHD till Worldsport HD comes live again by fall. RushHD is an extreme sports channel in HD.

Also Worldsport just got a 2nd HD truck so it will be doing 2 live game next season, but I don't know if it will be 2 La Liga matches or 1 LaLiga plus another league maybe Italy since GolTV licences the right to them.

Here are some games and sports on Worldsport-HD:
LaLiga matches 1 or 2 per weeks live
Uefa Cup matches once in a while
Euroleague Basketball
International soccer friendlies once in a while
Various hockey games

The quality is 100 times better and the 5.1 surround sound is cool. You can see the finest detail, maybe in the future this will be GolTV HD.

The games wont be on Cablevision cable unless the have space for 21 HD channel from VOOM.

The deal is for Cablevision's Rainbow Media group which owns VOOM21 HD programming. DISHnetwork is the sole distributer for VOOM21 they have 10 HD channels now on DISH and will add the rest after testing is completed on MPEG4 format since everyone with DISH will need to get new boxes that support MPG4 even the standard channel will be MPEG4 and will open up more bandwith to add new channels.
