Steven Cohen and his despicable comments about the Hillsborough Tragedy

i would like to draw attention to a certain radio host Steven Cohen. this man is completely anti liverpool, which i do not have a problem with. what i do have a problem with is the absolutely disgusting comments he has made about the hillsborough tragedy. just a few days before the 20th aniversary he was repeating comments he has made before. he said that the deaths of the 96 was the fans own fault. he accused liverpool of turning themselves from the instigators into the victims. personally i find this an outrage and so do many other liverpool fans. a movement has begun and is gaining momentum in getting him off the air. please please please go to http://boycottstevencohen.webs.com to find out the full details of this disgusting man, and to aid in the effort to get him off the air. he has apologised for his comments - but his apology itself was shameful. he did not mention the 96 at all, he only apologised to his viewers. please help in the effort to get him off the air.

he has no idea about what hillsborough means to liverpool, and he has absolutely no facts to back up his opinions. what he is said is absolutely despicable and is a slur on the memory of those who died on that terrible day.

It's call freedom of speech here in AMERICA.. I personally, like the man and his show. As far as what he said, well... it was his own opinion based on what he believes. You and everyone else are also entitled to your opinion.

But I must add, when is Liverpool FC or anyone in the higher ups in Liverpool or those that claim to defend this tragedy, going to come out an condemned those that are threatening his life, his family's life and also shouting anti-semitic slurs his way just because his Jewish?? are you in the process of calling those Liverpool supporters out as well??

Freedom of speech is freedom of speech and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Of course, when it gets to death threats, that's where I draw the line, and of course those "supporters" who called for his life are, imho, wrong. End of.

That said, he knows fully what he's playing with, and having "apologized" once for saying about the same stuff in the past, he could be a bit more careful when dealing with that subject, having a show and all that. He could even cite the Taylor report if he really wants to talk about it, and show people the two sides to the story, but hey, it's his show, after all.

He needs evidence to support his claims. He has none watsoever and this is what bothers me the most. I respect his right to free speech, and i do not agree with the people who send him death threats etc. it is quite clearly said on the website that that is not what they want. However he should not say these things without evidence, and even if he truly believes in what he is saying he should at least try and be civil about it. Blaming all of this on the fans just before the 20th aniversary is low. It is a special day of remembrance for all of Liverpool and all of LFCs fans. I live in Australia and i still commemorate it. Even if it was the fans fault as he said, it should still be a day of remembrance. I am pretty sure they didnt turn up to try a crush 96 people to death. The day is not about finding who is to blame, it is about honouring the memory of those who died that day at Hillsborough. If he cannot respect that, cannot apologize to the 96, their families and Liverpool itself, he should not be on the air.
