NOw I don't know if someone already tried but:
if you open the initfswin32 from fifa 17 you have on top of any number of lines a reference to a linked ini
Example:
‚ï€$file ä€name Scripts/ini/data/product.ini payload ³€// This file is a good place to document your INI.

and below a list of parameters

Now in theory you should make the following path to make the ini work: Scripts/ini/data/ and create the product.ini in that path
Am I correct?

So if I want to change for example these other parameters:

Hey, @Supernova, which files in locale.ini can I try to edit to make the cpu ai more aggressiv, the whole gameplay more difficult? I play on legend, but it´s really boring, because the cpu ai are don´t try to play forward. I think many players feel the same. I wanna try out something, but I am a little bit afraid to edit the wrong ones. ;-)
Are you tweaking/raising CPU positioning sliders? Do that to push the CPU forward. You might need to try something completely new and different, like lowering User speed and accel sliders. The slower/less agile your players, the more the CPU will be able to take advantage and move up the pitch. And maybe try using all manual controls for more of a challenge, or play using with a 4th tier team.

Yes of course I am tweaking the sliders. First thing what I done as I played my first match in Fifa 18 was the game speed change to slow. ;-) I tweaked the sliders for the cpu to better finishing, better shooting, and some others, my slider in the other direction. I think I have now a good mix. I have start a career with Lazio and my first league game I lost 1-2. The second game I win 3-0. I will see how it goes further. And thank you for your advices. The whole gameplay feels now more realistic with tweaking sliders from speed and accelaration a little bit down. I can recommend it for any player, so there is no more the feeling like Usain Bolts all over the pitch.:-)

did it work? i too find gameplay waaay to easy.

in combination with setting the game slider higher for cpu, yes a little bit. I edit in the locale.ini also some values what i can find if it have something to do with cpu ai. There are something like cpu defense or offense. But I really dont know if it changes something. :-D But in fact the cpu scores more goals now...

I've modified strings to improve the physics of the ball in the shoots, if you want to try them ,just copy in the local.ini file in Fifa18 /data. ;)

did you try to change penalties? even on legendary ai usually misses..
also do you have some sort of documentation in your edited .ini? i like some stuff but genererally it feels a little clunky to me and ai defense is too good.

im reeeeeally desperate for anything that increases the amount of fouls the ai is doing (because im getting nothing there, even with fidels ultra sim gameplay patch) and on the same note the referee strictness with cards (i know that youve got a strictness-line in the locale.ini, but since fifa 16 i never understood if the referee will give more or less cards if you increase the value for this line or decrease it, so which is it btw?). thanks!

my guess is that wont change till either we understand what parts of .ini actually work and how or untill there will be a decent editing tool. even with the old engine the biggest challenge in editing actual gameplay was to get more fouls/tackles. the problem itself is due to the ai being to 'perfect'. they know when they will be able to get the ball without committing fouls and therefore only tackle if they have a high chance of succeeding. unless there is code that will make them more human this will never change.

I and my other friends are working hard on us, fouls have always been the main search point in Fifa GP mod, as well as trying to make the IA more human.

Unfortunately this year we are finding it difficult because the strings sometimes seem to work, sometimes not, much depends on custom teams' tactics, other than db parameters, it's not easy to find the "square"...
Even the initfs_Win32 file may have strings inside it that create confusion with those in the local ..
Then in carrier there are still other parameters that change everything ...

In short, a nice mess! :)

But we continue to working on it ... ;)

i think i managed to decrease ai tackling skills. though as expected it didnt result in more fouls. i feel adding aggression doesnt necessarily increase tackles it just makes ai press higher up and commit more players to guard the runner. meh..

Theres a few issues with regards to fouls. Passing is too quick, dribbling players run with the ball and dont stumble OR the player is easily tackled. The teams tend to sit back in a shape a lot, leaving loads of space to move and loads of space for the dribbler to pass to another player.

PES nailed tackling/fouls as it included elbows and niggly tackles from behind. Players will fall over!

Even if players collide eg a defender is simply blocking a attacker resulting in the attacker running into the defender its usually no foul. that was different in previous version for sure. I changed passing to a comfortable speed and with how i set sliders/ini there isnt to much space to drible but as always ai wont tackle if they dont have the chance to actually win possession. so fouls are mostly a result of the ai committing for a tackle and the attacker changing direction/using skill move in the exact same second leaving the ai no chance to cancel tackle thus resulting in fouls. in fifa 16 i could get the ai to come out way more aggressive and commit fouls on players with high enough ball control..

Does anyone know here how to improve left stick dribbling with the likes of Hazard, Ronaldo, Messi, etc? It's almost impossible to dribble past 1 on 1 without using skills or holding L1. FIFA 16 had it spot on.

I changed the AI tackle but all defenders are still like Maldini on prime. It's impossible to get past defenders without skill moves.
