Right after hearing the results of the Match fixing in Italy...

How can i edit the database to allow for the point deductions given to the guilty parties?

Juventus -30
Milan -15
Fiorentina -12
LAzio -7

Obviously i know how to change the teams into Serie B... but its the point deductions i need help with.

Now this will be a challenge... bring Juventus back to the top after the match fixing scandel.

Getting back 30 points isn't that easy. Though, from a challenge point of view, I would've loved to see them go down all the way to Serie C. That would've been a real challenge.

But do u think the players will want to remain at a club in serie B on -30 points at the start of the season? its gonna take a season or 2 until they can get back to where they were b4 if u ask me.

But back to my question...

Can the points deductions be included in the database?

IRL they would, in FM...don't think so.

@your question: I don't think you can deduct points. Not sure though, maybe Ruud knows. :)

well, in FM07 they certainly will come with the points reduced, but i don't see how you can do that using an editor..

Yeah id imagine FM07 will include the deductions :D

But i just wondered if it cud be done on the current database using an editor.

cos its gonna be a wait until... oct/nov until its release at the earliest.

Yeah, but with -30 you have to figure they'll be in Serie B for two years. And without Serie A television and prize money, and no Champions League television and prize money, they won't be able to afford the salaries of their best players for that long.

you can't do it. Mainly because the editing couldnt be done "pregame" with a set points deduction. It just isnt in the game, or in any pregame editor i know of.

So no, it cant be done, and i doubt it'll make it into FM07 as its PROBABLY too late for a new feature. Should be easy to implement though.

No, not hard. Just use a .edt file to call up a variable that alters the standings at the start of the game. They'll have to write in the variable, but the way the table is presented, it looks to be just a change to a single number.

Ok no problem.

Just wondered if it was possible.

Thanks anyway.

EDIT: Genoa starts the game on -3 in FM2006... could this help? lol.

yeha thats what i was saying Ruud, not in, but not hard to implement for FM07 (hopefully) or FM08.

Didn't know that Jonaz, though i have a feeling that rather than dramatically changing the code, they simply edited Genoa indivudually? What you think Ruud?

Yeah i didnt until i got a reply over at the forums on susie.

Genoa start with -3 points... can even check for proof... i didnt know about it.

I don't know how they have done that, but there's no external way of influencing it in any case. None of the files that affect new games have anything related to Genoa.
