Tactics 101

i play a stable 4-1-2-1-2 or 4-1-3-2 (depends on who playing) with wingers which seems to work wonders for my squad will post screenie later if i can really be arsed.

why cant Gerrard play right wing? (thats my only gripe), on mine he is Natural MC/MR.

Or do you just think im wasting him? Also a 433 gets rid of Kewell

Yeah i think he would be wasted at MR, i like my winger to have good dirbbling and corssing. BTW Kewell can play in a 4-3-3...i have noticed that in a 4-3-3 wingers are pretty good for playing the outside forward role. As long as they have the right stats they work.

The 4-3-3 is going pretty good, i seem have most of the ball and Cisse gets a lot of chances to score. Kewell and Govou also get chances to score but most of the time they just give it to Cisse to put away.

Bad luck about your game...well maybe not, depends how that was going. If you want i can send the 4-3-3 to you and you can check it out and put your own changes if you want. I think im done with this game though, need to focous on SG United.

I bet your Liverpool isnt as bad as the current Liverpool in my game Although they did win the EPL in 2007 and the CL in 2008.

This tactics can be used for the ****ed up teams like India and others. If u know that there is no way ur team is going to win against ur opponent, like India Vs Japan, u use following tactics.
5-3-2 Defensive

And than u change the team instructions to following.

its not over yet, u personally change the mentality of 2 of ur midfielders to normal and one of the midfielders to attacking, also change the mentality of ur two strikers to full attacking. About Defenders, tick marking and tight marking of all the defenders if they are not ticked. Ask one of the midfielder to mark man and all others have to be on zonal. During the match, it depends upon how u want ur team to perform, if u have scored 1 goal and u r in lead u might wanna set the mentality of all ur midfielders to defensive ( not ultra defensive) and the mentality of the strikers to be normal (not attacking anymore), thats if u are afraid that u will lose. The result in most cases will be draw, and there is very little chance that u will lose, and also there are some chance that u might win.Also, before half time, time wasting can be set to mixed. Hope it helps.

King, dont use extremes.

Dont go Ultra Defensive, go Defensive about 3 or 4 from the left.

Rob, its ultra defensive for defenders only, as i said i change the mentalities of midfielders and strikers and damn it works, and if i go defensive the opponents score easily.
Tom, i neva tried any other team or clubs, just started playing this like a week ago.

King i have to agree with Rob, even with defenders "ultra-defensive" isnt a great idea.

I'm in my friendlies at the min, using an adapted version of Socrates' 433.

I only went ultra-defensive once. I was with 9 players...but I drew! Class...I remember it...Boavista vs. Sporting. I can't believe how I hold some 30 minutes...not even Liedson was attacking...

If you put defenders all the way at the extreme of "ultra defensive" they hang around the six yard box having tea with your keeper. And King's tactic is way too flat for my tastes. Now granted, I'm not the greatest tactic creator, although I'm alright. It's just that I get frustrated when I don't win every game, so I'll ditch a relatively successful tactic that doesn't treble for a downloaded one that will. I hate not winning. Even one game.

I would upper the defensive line a bit.

I would increase the tempo to normal. I assume players have their own tactic settings.

Well I've set the tackling on every player conform to his tackle skills, and I just put long shots to often on the players that have a good shot.
And Johnny, you mean I should put Zambrotta & Zebina on WB?

I think he means to make the defensive line in team instructions move to the right.

Yeah I do. It is never good to have a deep defensive line if you want to play offside

I actually don't like it. I don't think 4-4-2 is for you. There is no reason to have Nedved sitting on the bench. And to top it off Viera is going to have to create the goals, something he's not exactly famous for. Get a playmaker in there!

Meh I switched to 4-2-3-1 against Roma and it turned up well. Yeah I kind of need a playmaker in the centre of the midfield but I don't know if I have enough time left to buy one, the transfer window closes in 4 days. Edit: Just made a bid for Steven Davis, he has the perfect skills for a playmaker: passing, technique, determination, flair, team work, work rate and stamina, all of them are good. But I'm not sure if he isn't too lite for the position.
