I need some help with my team and how to play

I play most of my players as presets to their position
I'm just a couple of days to the winter transfer window and I'm wondering if you have any suggestions what to buy ?

why such short passes?
if you're using down both flanks shouldn't normal be a little better?
this way the team will switch play from left to right with a square long ball.
if you use short passes it'll take ages.
with long passes I can imagine your wingers storming down the flanks to receive nice long balls.

far too much down the wings your centre midfield is wide open, check on the 2D screen if you dont believe me, im not the best at tactics but id advice shortening those runs by your wingers and the short passing is a bad idea, that doesnt just effect all your best players but Marchena and Ayala are trying to pass it around too, thats a bad idea.

Less width might be an idea too.

Playing such a deep defensive line with an attacking minded team will leave a big gap between defence and attack (and due to the width being employed), and with the high creativity, passes will be tried which might no pay off (depending on the ability of your players), leaving your defense exposed.

As tom mentioned, it might be better to set your team to a more direct or mixed passing, and then have your DM with a short passing style just to clear things up and keep it simple in that area.

Put Passes at the same level as defensive line, I fing too short, and too long also, passes somewhat vain.

Have your DR, DL, ML and MR with Direct passes, maybe both DC with long, though this one is not so recommendable

Make sure MR and ML crosses often, if you don't want your MR/ML to do this, put their arrows to AM R and AM L or AM RC and AM LC.

Focus Passing should be mixed, otherwise I see no point on using an AM C

then I think it depends on how well your players adapt to the tactic.

Ah, as a final warning, sell the bitch you have, the one that ALWAYS makes backward passes, even if your team is losing and the rival is using catenaccio. He claims to be an AM C, what a poor pone. It's named Pablo Aimar, and although he doesn't come from NOB, he's a Pecho Frío.

Probably get another left sided midfielder as backup for Vicente, he gets tired easily too in my Valencia game. I'd prefer to play Xisco upfront.

Personal instructions are the key to good tactics. I generally leave the team instructions quite standard, because all my players have their own instructions.

I dont like short passing and deep defensive lines btw, never works for me.

My wingers and my fullbacks are now playing mostly like presets but they are playing Direct Passes
Aimar is also playing more directly and my focus passing is mixed, defensive line normal and a little less creativity

I'll tell you later how it turns out

I disagree Tom, I play almost the same formation. As long as you have an AM who can get back and help defend, it's fine. But I wouldn't play short passes with 2 wide players. I also focus more on individual player tactics, then the team ones become largely irrelevant as the players have their own instructions. This is the formation I play, and I find to be successful. I won the league with Espanol in my first season when we were relegation contenders. (this was after my first 3 seasons at Brondby, where I played the same tactic with the same success)

Well I think I've missed something really important, the induvidual instructions
If I've the team instructions as All out attack but all my players have defensive

does that mean the my team instructions doesn't mean a thing ?

if that is how it is I have to change some things I think

If the personal instructions are very defensive for instance, while the teams mentality is attacking, I think the player will ignore the teams mentality and be very defensive, so in that case the team instructions dont mean anything.

Not 100% sure though.

I think Cody is right. If you dont set a player instruction, it defaults to the team instructions, so that suggests having a player instruction would ignore the team instruction.

It does a bit . . . I was just in a match and set it to all-out attack (team) and they did literally that, the GK came up for corners etc. If it didn't affect it, surely the players would all just have "normal" mentality, as that's the default?

yeah cause I think the team can have all out attack but still like your defenders thinks about being more defensive
