Een brand heeft een deel van het Ajax Supportershome bij de Amsterdam ArenA verwoest. Volgens de brandweer brak de brand gisteravond rond 23:30 uur uit en was het vuur binnen een uur onder controle. Volgens de politie vielen er geen gewonden.

Het houten gebouwtje ligt naast het voetbalstadion en is het clubhuis van de Ajax-supporters. Het is nog onduidelijk hoe de brand is ontstaan. Zondagmiddag speelde Ajax tegen ADO Den Haag. Supporters van de tegenpartij waren niet welkom in verband met spreekkoren.

Steven Pienaar, voetballer in dienst van Ajax, is zondagavond aangehouden op verdenking van mishandeling. Zijn vriendin deed die avond op het politiebureau van Diemen aangifte van huiselijk geweld waarop de middenvelder werd gearresteerd.

Ajax heeft maandag in een reactie laten weten "geen enkel commentaar" te geven. Ook de politie Amsterdam-Amstelland en justitie willen niets over de kwestie zeggen. De 22-jarige Pienaar was maandagochtend niet op de training van Ajax aanwezig.

Pienaar is net hersteld van een zware knieblessure en heeft zodoende geen basisplaats in het eerste van de Amsterdamse club. Zondag speelde de middenvelder in de wedstrijd tegen ADO Den Haag één helft mee.

there's an update in the Pienaar situation

Update:
Steven Pienaar is inmiddels weer door de politie na verhoor vrijgelaten. Zelf ontkent de voetballer zijn ex-vriendin te hebben mishandeld.

Pienaar verbrak gisteren zijn relatie, waarna er een ruzie ontstond. De advocaat van Pienaar, mr. Bénédicte Ficq, betwist namens Pienaar dat er sprake is van mishandeling. Hij overweegt om de vrouw op zijn beurt aan te klagen omdat zij een valse verklaring zou hebben afgelegd.

De brand die afgelopen zondagavond het supportershome van voetbalclub Ajax deels verwoestte, blijkt te zijn aangestoken. Dit blijkt uit politie-onderzoek. Wie verantwoordelijk is voor de brand zal nog via onderzoek moeten blijken.

Zondagavond rond 22.30 brak er in het supportershome van Ajax brand uit. Het gebouw bleef weinig bespaard en brandde uit. De supporters van Ajax willen graag het supportershome opnieuw opbouwen, wanneer dit gaat gebeuren is echter niet duidelijk. Tot die tijd zal Ajax op zoek moeten gaan naar een alternatief voor zijn supporters.

AT5 reported that it also could have been Feyenoordfans. It being revenge for the time Ajaxfans stormed the pitch at Jong-ajax vs Jong Feyenoord. so nothing is sure ... i think some clan will claim it on the internet, they're stupid enough

Seems like Babel's injury was nothing big. He'll be available for the match against NAC. However, van der Vaart (suspension), Sneijder and Grygera (injuries) won't be.

Steven Pienaar won't be prosecuted in the case involving his former girlfriend. The DA dropped the case.
