maybe I shouldn't have edited that out.

...BTW....

What the h*ll are you talking about? and what does it have to do with this topic?

That is the reason I edited out my comment bc it has nothing to do with this topic.

What the h*ll does the U.S have to do with this?

It's the prelude to the white flag in online debates. When someone feels defeated in an argument not about the US, they'll invoke the US in hopes of changing ths subject and salvaging some pride.

Firstly im new here so hello everybody

(turk karde$lerime londradan selamlar)

I was just browsing through the forum and I come across this thread and it actually made me laugh....

I love it when Greeks talk about genocide, ok, lets talk about Genocide

Firstly, since when the hell have greeks had anything to do with armenians? STOP LIVING IN THE PAST, we took Istanbul off you fair and square :-P

Right now, on a serious note, not taking notice of the Turkey flag up there ^^ im actually Turkish CYPRIOT, meaning im from CYPRUS. So, my idiotic greco friend lets talk about Genocide, since we're on this topic, lets move on 50 or so years from whenever the hell these horrible evil turks raped and murdered thousands of defenceless and innocent Armenians, why dont we talk about talk about Cyprus 1962? Hell, lets fast forward 12 more years to 1974 when things really became heated. How about the thousands of Turkish Cypriots who were rounded up, raped, tortured and then murdered by Greek Cypriots incited and armed by Greek Nationalists from Athens? Hmm, im sure plenty of the UK London users on this forum will no doubt agree with me that theres a hell of a lot of Turks in london, but why is this? Its because many turks (including my parents, who, at the age of 16 running away from their homes were shot at by Greek militia; and how about my Mums cousin, who was tortured by a Greek "police officer" for the mere fact hes Turkish.
(If you dont believe me, check out http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0951446428/203-1893180-3802367, written by a BRITISH journalist who was there at the time)

ANYWAY, lets go back to whenever the hell it was my Turkish mainland brothers murdered this Armenians, you do realise that at the time Turkey was being on its West Coast by ANZAC and British Forces, on its East Coast by Arab Rebels led by Lawrence of Arabia and in its North by Russia, do you really think they had time to deal with Greek and Armenian rebels who chose THIS SPECIFIC time to start causing trouble in Turkeys interior? No. Thats why Mustafa Kemal ordered Turkish soldiers to round up these rebels and FORCE (yes force, lets not sugar cloud it now) them to move out of Turkeys borders, yes its unfortunate that many died but I assure you none of these fatalities was caused by "evil Neo-Turks just killing for the fun of it." Then again, these rebels shouldn't have been causing trouble, should they? They could have atleast waited until the war was over and had their say at the Treaty of Lorraine (which was actually quite harsh on the Turks anyway)

Thankyou for taking your time to read, oh and i look forward to your response :D

p.s. sorry to all you members who really couldn't give a f**k but Greeks in general are looking for reasons to hate

Wow were to begin tearing up this post......hmm lets start with....

1)This thread is about the Armenian, Greek, Assyrian genocide ..........therefore........NOT CYPRUS..... I don't see Cyprus anywere in the title but maybe my English is bad.....

Let's see..... Armenian,..... Greek,.... Assyrian,..... Genocide.....WWI......

NOPE I don't see Cyprus anywere.....but because you are an idiot....you decide to bring the issue forward.......somewere it doesn't belong.

No problem.......I will deal with the Cyprus issue in one sentence......

THE GREEK-CYPRIOT GOVERNMENT HAS FORMALY ACCEPTED KILLINGS OF TURKS IN CYRPUS.

There, that was easy.

2)You admit that......"Thats why Mustafa Kemal ordered Turkish soldiers to round up these rebels and FORCE (yes force, lets not sugar cloud it now) them to move out of Turkeys borders, yes its unfortunate that many died but I assure you none of these fatalities was caused by "evil Neo-Turks just killing for the fun of it."

So rounding up rebels,.............. I guess all women and children are rebels? .....Anyway the neo-turks round them up.......like animals and force them to walk into the interior deserts of Turkey....(let's not talk about the wiping out of entire villages and monestaries)......all those people that died in those deserts, whose fault is that?

obviously not the neo-Turks right?

oh wait i know..................it's the U.S' fault

The difference between Greece and Turkey on this WWI/ Cyprus is that the Greek-Cypriots admit to killing Turks while for Turkey the genocide of WWI didn't happen.......This topic is about discussing the genocide and the failure of Turkey......."A republic" .......to recognise that in a time of war if viciously murdered its citizens because they were..............different from them (see the earlier post regarding the U.N. defenition of genocide).

and btw if you ..........ACTUALLY.... took time to read this discussion you would have noticed that I wasn't the one who started this.

your friend ......cus......asked me to discuss this......

so you can take your......
"p.s. .................but Greeks in general are looking for reasons to hate"

and shove it up your *ss.
:)

finally, I'm not forcing anyone to read this thread if people don't want to read it they don't have to.

but this is the place to hold discussion like the current one. :jambo:

First and foremost, I am not an idiot and I wont accuse you of being one because to be honest, I dont actually know you, so please refrain from making such judgements.

Now, why make such a big deal about me bringing Cyprus foward?! Gosh calm down its ok!!! I did bring Cyprus up, ok, yes I did, there you go :-D I hope this pleases you, the REASON i brought up Cyprus was because I find it funny that so many Greeks LOVE discussing genocide when their past isn't exactly bloodfree is it?! Plus, theres no proof of this "getting together women and children and putting them in churches and burning them blah blah blah", but rpoof of Greek and Greek Cypriots doing this in Cyprus is there for all to see so please, give up on the sympathy vote.

"So rounding up rebels,.............. I guess all women and children are rebels? .....Anyway the neo-turks round them up.......like animals and force them to walk into the interior deserts of Turkey"

Yes because I am sure the Women and Children would have preferred to stay behind without their rebelling husbands, fathers and brothers and live in a state that would now be 100% Turkish.

".....all those people that died in those deserts, whose fault is that?"

Simple, the heat and the suns :-D Ok ok, im not saying that this is not these "neo-Turks" fault but what do you expect a state whose struggling to stop foreign powers taking over to do? Lock up all these rebels in a concentration camp of somesort? Sure why not, but i can gurantee we'd still be here arguing with you accusing Turks of.....hell, i dunno, maybe stringing up "innocent" Armenians by their toes and stoning them to death, you Greeks (and no im not generalizing but 99% of the time it is Greeks who raise this arguement) seem to pick apart Turkish History just looking for things to exploit to make us look bad. The fact of the matter is the people in charge back then (Mustafa Kemal 'Ataturk' etc.) decided that in the best interest of the Republic, these rebels must be taken outside Turkish borders and yes regretfully many people died, but hell, lets get over it shall we? I dont see any Armenians on here complaining and arguing so why the hell are you?

Oh, and the shove it up your ass comment, its ancient greek literature that speaks of flamboyant homosexuality, not ancient turkish :-D

Pontiakos

Speaking of generalizations......

Is it "ancient" Turkish custom to b*llsh*t around facts?

I have successfully warned off two turks thus far and both did the same thing you are doing.....trying to b*llsh*t your way out of it.

except you made one mistake they didn't.....you racist piece of sh*t.......

"Simple, the heat and the suns :-D Ok ok, im not saying that this is not these "neo-Turks" fault but what do you expect a state whose struggling to stop foreign powers taking over to do? "

....Well the only logical thing they could ...........burn them alive......
It wasn't just rebels, the stories my grandmother told me, the stories that Pontian (Greek of Asian Minor Descent) grandmothers told their grandchildren, are NOT lies, they saw these vicious killings with their eyes.

and there's no proof?

of course not.....because it is all written by Greeks......so .....it didn't happen.

.......................The fact of the matter is the people in charge back then (Mustafa Kemal 'Ataturk' etc.) decided that in the best interest of the Republic, these rebels must be taken outside Turkish borders and yes regretfully many people died, but hell, lets get over it shall we?"

..........all you Jews out there..........

get over it....

Greece had Turks within its borders during WWI....what happened to them?

they left peacefully with all their belongings and finances.

I would love to get over it and have some closure

THE GREEK-CYPRIOTS HAVE ADMITTED TO KILLING TURKS!

2)in my previous post I said that your buddy.....cus.....wanted me to start this topic so I did.

that is why we are discussing this

Racist? Ohhh, the homosexuality comment hit home, nice; see, i dont like being called an idiot and you dont like the reality that greek culture is intwined with homoness, hehe i think them two cancel each other out.

....Well the only logical thing they could ...........burn them alive......

ahhh yes, dodging the matter at hand, im still wanting for a solution amigo

..........all you Jews out there..........

Erm, i'll let that one slide because to be honest, i dont know what the hell your trying to get at :-S

Greece had Turks within its borders during WWI....what happened to them?
they left peacefully with all their belongings and finances.

Turkey had greeks within its borders (and still does) and what happened to them? Nothing! Those who wanted to took their belongings and left and that was that, quite what your trying to argue I dont know.

I'm waiting for the "Turkish Republic" to accept their wrong doings and declare a national day or mourning.

Whens the day of mourning for those who died in Cyprus? Ohh!! There isnt one, fair play.

btw....you need to learn to read

And you need to learn to understand, I DONT CARE THAT GREEK CYPRIOT GOVERNMENT ADMITTED THEY KILLED INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN, I find the fact a GREEK is trying to tell the world about genocide, quite funny, OF ALL PEOPLE A GREEK, thats like a German telling me about how my country had concentration camps (just for the record we didn't so Pontiakos dont get excited).

just to clarify, is Turkey now classed as being in Europe?

'Cos i was brought up on the education that Turkey was the gateway to the East... just though i'd ask.

Like I quoted in the other thread, twenty five major concentration camps existed. The majority of the camps were situated near today's Iraqi and Syrian frontiers.

as a Turk, I actually feel at middle, a bit close to Europe just like you were thought :)
I'm generalizing this of course..

and bear in mind that I believe you can't have any idea about this unless you see Turkey =))

getting back on track, Pontiakos I figured out your attitude... The name is "I'll deny everything and attack to your personality everytime I see you think and say something different than me" syndrome.... (C)

everytime I read a post from you i feel like a butterfly moving inside me.. :-puke:

you say you proved me wrong at every statement I did, but you were nowhere near I'll give you that..

I didn't asked you to start the thread, I said I was thinking about opening one thread about this.. this is how corrupted and unaware you are from what you have read .. :fluffy:

hi..

I'll cut the crap.. you seem like a reasonable person.. so I'll spend some time contacting with you in order to prevent misunderstandings between us..

you said that turkish history teachers are greywolves..

yes I agree some of them really are.. History education in Turkey is full of crap in some areas (and how about yours?).. but luckly, at least we have adequate cultured people to correct some of these flaws by writing books and I do not limit my history knowledge by only reading from one source..

last time I offered the term "genocide" is wrong for the terrible situation happened between turkish&kurdish-armenian folks.. you completely disagreed, I had little time to give proof for my opinions so I'm thinking of starting a new thread about it.. you're always wellcome with your thoughts..

now if you'll excuse me.. good day..

this is the PM I sent to you kiddo.. :read:

by the way I don't really understand the meaning for the word behind "Government Cyprus accepted kills against Turks" or "Accept it and move along"

Pontiakos you talk like accepting this would legalize the issue.. you talk like, "I dont care you commited a genocide against them, just accept it"

we never rejected the unfortunate death of armenians while they were forced to move and we're sorry about that and know our responsibility for this.. but armenians doesnt acquire their responsibility for 24 insurgencies in 4 months which lead to these :lui:

what we only stand against is the word "genocide"..

so grow some balls to suppress your anger against turks and think reasonably..

that's the end of my word.. now I'm impatiently waiting for your post to see what kind of distortion you did to whichever of the statement I did... :-paul:

I read that these camps were formed by the Armenians for to settle down for the winter... as I said there was a trial formed in Britian for the Punishment of Ottoman authoratives in Malta and they searched for the entire archives but found nothing.. if there were a planned genocide going on, it should have popped out from somewhere with documents doesnt it?? :chew:

the funny part is, I'd like to know your knowledge's source (apart from Pontiakos I wont ask for source everything that is awkward to me, I just wonder this)... :hump:

Woa.......cus.....welcome back ....I see from your most recent post that you haven't done any reading on the issue....hang on one second I'll hand you your *ss in a basket in just one minute.....let me start with TrueTurk first.

B*llsh*t #1

the REASON i brought up Cyprus was because I find it funny that so many Greeks LOVE discussing genocide when their past isn't exactly bloodfree is it?!

I answered you and said ….we (Greek-Cypriots/Greeks) admit to killing Turks in Cyprus.

B*llsh*t #2
Racist? Ohhh, the homosexuality comment hit home, nice;

Blah blah blah the ancient Greeks were homos…..what the hell does this have to do with this conversation…….NOTHING

B*llsh*t #3

ahhh yes, dodging the matter at hand, im still wanting for a solution amigo

umm… how am I dodging the discussion? You said that we should get over it and I wrote…..sarcastically, and in jest of course….that using the same line of “thought” the Jews should get over the holocaust.

B*llsh*t #4

Whens the day of mourning for those who died in Cyprus? Ohh!! There isnt one, fair play.

Congratulations….you’re a moron….Greece has one its July 24th……

B*llsh*t #5

I DONT CARE THAT GREEK CYPRIOT GOVERNMENT ADMITTED THEY KILLED INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN

….you don’t care?

The reason we are having this discussion is that the “Turkish republic” doesn’t recognize the genocide of WWI.

B*llsh*t #6

STOP LIVING IN THE PAST, we took Istanbul off you fair and square :-P

What the hell does this have to do with Istanbul?

B*llsh*t #7

Then again, these rebels shouldn't have been causing trouble, should they? They could have atleast waited until the war was over and had their say at the Treaty of Lorraine (which was actually quite harsh on the Turks anyway)

The “rebellions” you speak of started in 1921 and the genocide started in 1910….So the “rebels” were defending themselves and their families…

Pontiakos

Starting XI
Cus.....your pm reads

I'm thinking of starting a new thread about it.. you're always wellcome with your thoughts..

so....I'm giving my thoughts?! :jap:

by the way I don't really understand the meaning for the word behind "Government Cyprus accepted kills against Turks" or "Accept it and move along"

1)What don't you understand here.....

THE GREEK CYPRIOT GOVERNMENT HAS ADMITTED TO KILLING TURKS IN CYPRUS

2)Accept it and move along......

I don't know what that means either, why don't you ask TrueTurks he is the one that said it.....I handed him his *ss for it though

Pontiakos you talk like accepting this would legalize the issue.. you talk like, "I dont care you commited a genocide against them, just accept it"

:ewan:

yes you're right it would legalize it....and if I didn't care I wouldn't be righting a book on SG right now.

we never rejected the unfortunate death of armenians while they were forced to move and we're sorry about that and know our responsibility for this..

you maybe sorry but your government denies it to this day(or Armenian, Pontian Greeks, and Assyrians......the official stance of the "Turkish republic" is that it never happened.

the funny part is, I'd like to know your knowledge's source (apart from Pontiakos I wont ask for source everything that is awkward to me, I just wonder this)...

They're called history books........the one's that aren't printed by the Turkish government and its supporters.

number of Armenians forced to move in Encyclopedia Britannica in 1910 Edition -1,500k- (Editor: English)

number of Armenians DEAD during forced-move in Encyclopedia Britannica in 1953 Edition -2,500k- (Editor: you guess .. )

Umm anyone who reads history will tell you that just because its written in another country by a different nationality doesn't mean they aren't biased..... :ewan:

For those of you that don't know much about this issue and would like to learn more I will post some materials here.........from both sources(Hellenophile and Turkophile)

First off general information about the region and time period. I will edit this post with links.

The place were the genocide took place is now part of modern day Turkey although some atrocities were also committed within modern day Armenia.

It is currently called Karadeniz by the Turkish government. The region borders along the Black Sea and it is known by many names. One that I have used it

Pontos

This name is derived from the Kingdom of Pontos that first took form in ancient times under the rule of King Mythridates the Eupater. Mythridates faught the oppression of the Roman emprire and managed to free all of Asia Minor and Greece from Roman rule but this kingdom was shortlived. Dictator Sylas defeated him in battle and Mythridates, not wanting to be captured, committed suicide. .........to be continued..
