You will not see a worse team performance this season than Newcastle's was today. I thought Portsmouth played badly at the Bridge on the first day, but they were nothing like the dross that Newcastle showed for 92 minutes. At this rate the Toon will be facing relegation at the end of the season. I can't see anything happening at Newcastle in the meantime that can change that. They were dire. No passion from the players and no passion from the manager either. Keegan will walk away from this mess. Nuff said.

Or maybe were just really really ridiculously good.

Lol no they were hopeless, but I wouldn't go as far as Bobby to say we were fortunate to win. I dunno Bobby maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think we might just escape from relegation this year.

I have a feeling we'll sign someone. I'm hoping it's Alonso, but I'd take any quality DM.

some random notes from the game.....

-don't think that newcastle held the ball for more than a couple of seconds for the first 25-30mins of the game, man.....this was by far one of the most dominating and beautiful performances that we've had since I've been following this club

-Jonas...******* hell....could possibly turn out to be the purchase of the year...wasted at newcastle playing off of all those sh!theads they've got...what an endurance beast, man...I just don't understand how a third tier club like Newcastle was able to nag this gem of a player

-fantastic gameby Tour....I've said this before, but WHAT A LION....a travesty that he ain't our captain...he should've been wearing that band even back when Henry was still around

-Sagna....what a specimen....looks as though he's packed on about 5-10pnds of muscle since coming here.....you are not gonna out muscle this dude on the ball, man

-Nasri...great spirit, attitude and awareness....this kid is very intelligent with his movements, man....hopefully he'll be more centrally based in the near future

-Eduardo's woman----perfect 10

-Silvestre's woman----perfect 10

-barton----that bitch needs to croak

-wtf?? Was that Viera in the crowd?

What a let down deadline day turned out to be for us. It's still hard for me to believe that our one signing Wenger said he would make was Silvestre.
I'm trying hard to stick behind Wenger and his transfer policy but it's frustrating when lower teams like Everton are spending the money and we aren't. Wenger's argument is that the together young team has great mental strength that he doesn't want to ruin, but in many key games last year we looked mentally weak, for example in the CL against Liverpool when we tied it 2-2 it was a mental mistake to give up a goal straight after as we were still celebrating. An experienced player imo would make us mentally stronger and smarter. The only other excuse is that we don't have the money, but it's hard to believe that Fizsman would make up a number like that.

Anyone else still backing Wenger on his transfers?

Are you joking, or are you being an arrogant ****.

If you're joking it's alright I just want to be clear.

Thats not arrogance mate, that's a warning. The rumours indicate that City's owners are willing to bid 120 million quid for Fabragas next summer. That'll really test the players loyalty to your club, and I don't think the moneybags on your board will want to turn that kind of money down.

Lovely stuff. C'mon City. (Y)

It's part joke/ part arrogance, because it is nice to wear that hat for once. But Fabregas won't be in a blue shirt soon. But don't forget Wenger has publicly coveted some of our players now and again.

120 million quid? If we actually got that money and had a couple replacements lined up, I really wouldn't mind that much if we sold him as much as I love the player. And that's hypothetical because he wouldn't go to City in the near future. You could buy a team with that ridiculous price, they would be the ones that would get screwed so yes lovely stuff.

well put, bro. I was disappointed, but only slightly, you know? I'd already resigned myself to the fact that we weren't gonna be bagging ourselves a whale of a player, but I thought that we'd strengthen the squad depth by purchasing a couple of players for around 7-10million euros each, you know? Maybe two solid defensive minded mifielders, or some more support for the defense....something....ANYTHING!

well we can still sign stephen appiah and thomas gravesen outside the transfer window, gravesen maybe not so much but appiah would be interesting, like to see how he wood go in the premier league and fit in with the arsenal system

Very good win. We dominated the whole match, except in the middle of the first half.

Oh, and Newcastle lost at home to Hull! Desperate times for the toons.
