The Legend
The injuries at the back are a big problem for us but the fact of the matter is the club fucked up in the market again. There's zero depth in defense anywhere other than left back and we currently have what depth we have there deployed as a makeshift center back where he isn't exactly covering himself in glory, I don't blame Nacho though because that isn't his job.

Arsene fucked up by sending Jenko out on loan, he's not Sagna but he is a natural right back and a very serviceable one at that, Chambers isn't and playing at right back during this formative time is probably hindering his development as a center back.

Per works well with Kos because Per's intelligence and reading of the game can cover for Kos being so rash at times, and Kos being so quick can cover for Per being so slow. Nacho isn't very fast and that means he and Per get caught out by quick strikers. I suppose it's a better combination than Kos-Nacho but I don't even want to imagine that.

I think Rosicky needs to be getting more games. He has a good long shot and that's something we're sorely lacking. Every time we took one yesterday it was dead center and routine for a goalkeeper of De Gea's quality, Rosicky can at least put some spin and dip on his shots.

The league is tight enough for us to still get into the top four but I'm sick of aiming for Champions League qualification.

Why wasn't Chambers played at CB and Gibbs or Montreal as RB? Jenkinson should have been kept as backup. You have only 1 natural RB this season; Debuchy.

Montreal : D ... Anyway this reminds me of something, i don't think i've ever seen a left footed player play as a right back, which makes sense though. There are more right footed players, thus wasting a left footed player on the right sounds like circus to me. Now if you've got no other options then okay, but seriously thinking i cannot come up with an example.

Quality left backs are hard to come by anyways.. On the top off my head right now, Alaba (who actually plays a different role under Guardiola), Jordi Alba, Azpilicueta (right footed) and that's about it, i think.

And not trying to have a dig at you guys but (the guy actually has a some kind of a point, but as an Arsenal fan, he shouldn't be thinking that way):

Has Blind played as a right back? To my knowledge he's only played as a left back when required, he can function as a centre back as well, which makes him such a good utility player (that sounds a bit harsh, but he's best at playing as a DM, a player who keeps things under control).

The guy is multifunctional though. So i wouldn't be surprised.

Adriano is hardly a majestic player, he gets the job done, but yeah i couldn't even think of him. He is right footed and mostly plays left back, yes? ;o

Edit: He's left footed i got confused.

Blind has played as right back. There is life before Man Utd.

Oh, i didn't know that. (not the life before Manutd of course : D )

But i believe that wasn't his preferred position, and i know you just brought an example. But the fact remains, there are no left footed players who constantly play on the right. As you brought out examples such as Blind and Adriano, there are no top class defenders playing that way. Anyway this is such a silly thing to argue about. :P

.... I only touched on that one point which was "i don't think i've ever seen a left footed player play as a right back"

And I listed a couple.

Then you said " But the fact remains, there are no left footed players who constantly play on the right."

That was not your initial statement. I just touched on one point and don't mean to get in a pointless back and forth.
