Probably because Rijkaard's an idiot.He keeps playing Motta and Gerard even tho they aren't doing anything good.Why Overmars and Quaresma don't start is beyond me.He should also play Marquez at the back and Rustu on goal.Then we'd be far more successful.

Anyway ,Ronaldinho's been injured and since Rijkaard focused the team tactics on him ,everything went wrong.He's back now and we'll be back up in a few games.Hopefully...

Davids would be nice and Rijkaard would probably play him because he's Dutch.He'd fit nicely instead of Motta.

BTW Could we really get vdVaart?

When does the transfer window close?

Ronaldinho's been out for around 5 weeks.

The usual would be 4-4-2 I think with Valdes ,Puyol ,Reiziger ,Cocu and the 4th defender switching between Navarro ,Marquez ,Mario etc(usually Gabri tho).Rijkaard can't make up his mind.Midfield is usually Motta ,Gerard ,Xavi and Ronaldinho with Luis Garcia and Kluivert up front.

The bench:Rustu ,Overmars ,Quaresma ,usually Marquez ,Saviola ,Iniesta ,Dani.

As I said ,Rijkaard's an idiot.

His reason:Rustu doesn't speak spanish.This would be a huge problem with an outfield player but why does the GK need instructions???
Rustu is unhappy ,and he should be.
Valdes is nowhere near him and Rustu did great in USA but then got injured and even tho he's far recovered ,he still isn't playing.
We'd be more successful with him as the keeper.
Hopefully ,Valdes will do something extremely stupid and Rustu will then get his chance and shine.

I don't believe that Barça signs Van der Vaart. He is expensive and Barça need more defenders before and a striker. But who knows...

The transfer period is open until 2rd february.

That's one of the biggest problems of Rijkaard, half league and nobody knows who will play the next week. Kluivert or Saviola, Rustu or Valdes, Luis Garcia or Overmars, Motta or Marquez or Gerard, Cocu or Reiziger,... the only insurance are Puyol and Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho was out around a month.

Really, he is still testing the players. Now he is discovering Marquez :rolleyes: and seeing that Cocu is not CB. And he needed to watch the World Cup U-20 to discover Iniesta.

any rumors about Bianchi coming to coach Barca....unless that was some bs rumor i heard a while ago...either way im shocked they are not doing better in Liga....first they had a good team on paper at least and then they signed Ronaldinho which was a HUGE move....ive only seen 2 Barca games this year and one was a Uefa Cup and the other a friendly in the U.S. so i really dunno how the players are doing....when Dinho gets back it can only help...but i dont know if he absense is the reason why they have been doing bad in the Liga...i think Ronaldinho is very good but i dont think him being out can cause that much of a problem where the team loses so many points, well at least for a team like Barca...but im reading Rijkaard a lot so maybe its him mostly...too bad i dont get there games

Barca don't really need van der Vaart, they need a complete striker is a main priority for them, and if they're not going to use Rustu, they should send him back to Fenerbahce so he can play 1st team football . . . . . or loan him to BVB. (H)

The key is not only Ronaldinho. The problem is that when Ronaldinho doesn't play Rijkaard changes all the tactic... joining that Ronaldinho is awesome and Rijkaard is crazy, the result is that Ronaldinho is indispensable.

If indeed VdV and Davids make their way to barca, I would personally use this formation:

-----------Saviola----?(Kluivert)----------------

Vaart------------Ronaldinho---------Quaresma

-------------Davids---------Xavi------------------

-----?(Navarro)----Marquez----Puyol----------

Obviously, Barca are weak on defensive depth, so I figure might as well play 3 at the back. The two ?'s will need to be filled with better players though. But that still would mean they will add(or need to add) four new players....which is unlikely.

If this doesnt work out, then a CB could be put in instead of Saviola..

Barça doesn't play 4-2-2. It plays 4-2-3-1.


Rijakaard is making many mistakes, but I still put a big part the blame of many of Barça problem on the players.

I would say:
Rijkaard's fault ----- 30 %
player's fault ------- 50 %
supporters and media fault ---- 20%

And the biggest problem was the previous board. Now things are getting better, but the football team still need some time and changes before it reach a top level again.
