yay, we kick-off with some bashing! from a totally expected source!

Shifty: the irony of the picture you posted being from an article about UK government action on British bribery is not lost on me ...

If Ricardo Kaka flops at Real Madrid, and returns to Italy, would he want to go back to AC Milan? OR would he choose Inter?

Xifio

The Von Trapps
if? he has ...

anyway: Pirlo, Seedorf, Crespo, Vieri, Ronaldo, and now Zlatan -- that's a list that Moratti wants "revenge" for, and he targeted Ricky Kaká for that reason ...

but Moratti thinks he's found his own Ricky Kaká in his new signing Ricky Álvarez, so he's not that interested now ...

Alvarez is quality, and has shown so much already in the preseason matches...

Kaka's problems at Madrid weren't entirely his fault, as he missed a lot through injury, and during that period the playing style and personnel changed quite a lot.

Anyway, back to the original question, I highly doubt he'd go to Inter.

Money, perhaps?

Stekelenburg to Roma, BTW. Thoughts? Don't know if the Serie A is the right league for him. Van Der Sar also failed at Juventus after he left Ajax. Anyway all the best to him, hope he does well.

Nice! A new Calcio thread. Its a shame that Italian League year by year gets worse. Its not what it used to be and i feel sorry for that because, with Premier League, the Italian was the one that i enjoyed the most. Now Calcio is just like ShiftyPowers said, no more great football and magical moments. Its really bad at my sight...

he'll be fine ... I don't think the league has anything to do with goalkeeper performances ... language, maybe, but not the league ...

the only factor is the player's nationality / up-bringing -- in any league in Europe, errors may be forgiven for a local boy / youth product, while they will be mercilessly chastised when it's with a foreign purchase ... it's what happened with van der Sar, who iirc was the first non-Italian GK to play for Juve ... and consider too who Edwin's 2nd-year competition / eventual replacement was ...

Okay, seriously, why in the ******* **** would Javier Pastore even entertain an offer from PSG?
Money, perhaps?
I assume they pay more than Palermo, certainly, but Pastore could go just about anywhere.
1) Zamparini wanted (uncompromisingly) NOT to sell to an Italian team ... every time an Italian team came in, the price suddenly started jumping higher specifically for them;

2) Paris St-Germain has new Qatari owners, so can now outbid even the Chels for an elite player;

3) England is getting a little saturated with billionaire owners, so new prospectors want to build Champions-League-winning teams elsewhere in Europe, especially countries with more all-round appeal;

4) Leonardo, one of the few remaining a real gentleman of football (along with guys like Luis Figo), was brought on specifically to sell the idea of the Paris revolution project to top players ... where else would Leonardo start the process but in Italy?

a gentleman's accord is only valid when 2 gentlemen are involved ... Nuñez was out-bound, and Gaspart is closer to a donkey than a gentleman ...

Arnau

NGR LVR
Yea Nuñez is a thief and Gaspar a dumb but Figo's not a gentlemen. A real gentlemen doesn't sign a contract with both, Fiorentina and Barça, just before leaving Sporting.

Xifio

The Von Trapps
uh, it was Juve and Parma ... and he obviously accepted the advice of his agents, who he'd trust by definition ... if it weren't for the muddle in Italy caused by his agents, Barça would never have got him ...

Xifio

The Von Trapps
it's the first time I'm hearing anything about Fiorentina ... and he signed with Barça after the Parma-Juve muddle ... again, it was his agents' doing ...

you've got no case, mate ... you're just holding a grudge against Figo coz you are a Catalan culé who wants to blame the player and not the incompetent club president for his departure to the "enemy" ...

Arnau

NGR LVR
I was like 10 years old when he left so i don't exactly know what it happened but if someone trade Barça for Madrid after 5 seasons and being club captain is a traitor. You have to understand that.

EDIT: He was lying 'till the last day, there's a firts page of sport or elmundodeportivo with Figo with a Barça scarf saying "i'm not going anywhere, i love barça and blah blah blah" just few days before sign for Madrid. Maybe he thought Florentino wouldn't beat Lorenzo Sanz...
