I think we should withdraw from all international competitions and just play friendly matches from now on in the true amateur spirit.

Your mistake was eventually caving in to the idea of the World Cup. If you never entered it then you could still say you are the best!

Apart from Fifa ranking, I think Roy did quite well so far, although his team is boring. If he makes a team rather that all star XI, maybe England can impress in the World Cup.

Meh, I think Harry could have done as well or better. I am still very unhappy with the squad he picked for the Euros.

Very true. Picking 7 Liverpool players is criminal in my eyes. I mean Henderson, Kelly and Downing? Come on!
Adam Johnson and others, including a few Swansea players, were completely overlooked.

In a qualifying group with includes Poland and the Ukraine is there the outside chance that Roy could pull a Steve McClaren?

I think Johnson is a great player... or was at least. You can't pick a player who never plays. Speaking of which, City better ******* loan him out this year.

He managed England two time before Euro, he had little time to make a new team. I think he did a right thing to pick players which he already know and not change the starting squad.

That being said, overall performance was way better that world cup.

Already knew? Kelly, Henderson and Downing are not what I would call familiar faces on the international scene. And it isn't difficult to do much better than 2010 where we failed to beat Algeria, USA and also got stuffed by Germany.

I don't mind the EUROs considering the state of English international football. But I would still say that Hodgson's selections were way off in some areas.

They were selected after Lampard and Barry injuries, they were originally in shortlist.

Regarding Downing, Johnson was way better.

Doesn't make much difference, does it? There were a host of players in all three positions who had better seasons and who would have been better suited.

As I mentioned the main problem is England was All Star XI during last couple of years rather than a team. If Roy can find a group of players who can play well along each other, England would do well in world cup.

Tbh, there are some great talents at the moments which need right direction, the likes of Wilshere, Cleverly, Welbeck, Rodwell, Oxlade, Cahil and ...

He did well picking mostly Liverpool players because Liverpool plays very well as a team. You make a lot of sense.
