And here you were throwing in the towel a few weeks ago...

Well great to see that all is still going the way we neutrals wanted to go.

I'll definitely be at the pub cheering on my fantasy team on the last matchday of the season. Hope to see City win the title as well.

Emerged early, but PFA team of year ... Hart, Walker, Kompany, Coloccini, Baines, Silva, Y Toure, Bale, Parker, Van Persie, Rooney

Bale continues to be overrated, but not tremendously surprising.

I don't think Bale is overrated at all.

I am, however, very surprised that Kyle Walker won the Young Player of the Year award, considering he was up against the likes of Aguero. It was decided a while ago apparently so I guess prior to Tottenham's recent woeful defensive run, but still, he's been decent but the best young player in the league? Nope.

Also not one single Chelsea player in the team of the season :(

Bale is incredibly gifted physically, but I am starting to wonder if a lot of his great highlights are actually more lucky than good. He disappears for LONG stretches. Like, month long stretches. Physically he looks like Ronaldo, but he is no Ronaldo.

I disagree, I've watched a lot of him this season (dont know why but there seem to be a lot of Tottenham games on telly in the baltics) and he is ALWAYS a significant presence, honestly the amount he does in matches, and the amount of chances he creates and has, is far more than what is reflected just by his assists and goals (which are already formidable). He is incredibly naturally gifted and also has a great work rate, and dont forget he has only recently been pushed forward into the winger position and is still adjusting to it. Week in week out he shows flashes of brilliance which are up there with the very best players in the world, and he has more consistency than he is given credit for, and as good as this Tottenham team is we still havent seen him playing with many world class players for club or country yet. I think it is only a matter of time before he gets a big move (Barca or Real not out of the question) and that you will see him set the world alight in the next few years.

Help?

But you can't really compare him to Ronaldo, right. Its Ronaldo...

Great to see Coloccini get the recognition. He's oozed class this season.

Quite strange that one. Although I do think they need to lower the age criteria for "Young Player OTY". Nowadays players become established at a younger age and you could basically get a player winning both almost every season. The award should be for players like Walker or Oxlade-Chamberlain.

I thought Mata, Koscielny, Sagna and Valencia should have all made team of the season. Kun isn't that old really he's just 23 which should be the cutoff age in my opinion.

When Milner won it 2 years ago at age 24 I was like whaaaa. I don't necessarily have a problem with Walker winning the award, but beating out Kun Aguero is a joke. My guess is that the players are given ballots that say "Player of the Year: __________" and "Young Player of the Year: __________" and then are asked to fill them out. And some players either assume Aguero is too old, or maybe they vote him as Player of the Year and assume they can't vote for him as Young Player of the Year.

Problem with Bale is Harry tried using him differently because teams were defending him specifically, but the problem is Bale can't do anything other than the typical LW role.

Bale is of that old English breed of players where physicality, verticality and efficiency makes him great at just one thing, and that sort of player doesn't have space in the modern game anymore. Excluding, of course, those with great talent who are simply so good that tactics are just 'meh-ed' so they can be used. Which is why he and Harry mesh well.

Oh and tits.
Congrats to RvP.... completely deserved. Surprised Kompany and Toure didn't get nominated for POY and Parker got.

I agree with Shifty that Bale is a little overrated. He is a good winger even better than Cristiano as an actual winger but I honestly don't think he is all that naturally gifted like a Ribery,Robben,Di Maria etc who are creative from the left or right when they cut inside. He is poor from the middle or right. He seems a bit stiff physically with the ball and incapable of changing direction comfortably. I personally think he is gonna do better as a left wing back ala Dani Alves(i had this opinion before Alves' interview) but monkey boy thinks he is Cristiano.

Amidst all the CL action, I've only just noticed that Bolton beat Villa away. Great for the entertainment factor in the relegation battle.

Southampton are coming up. I'm quite happy with that. St. Maries is a really nice stadium and I've always wanted to see Sharpe and Lambert in the PL.

Yeah, as superb as Newcastle have been, they could really fall away with those last four games. Wigan were disappointing today but we mustn't forget how hard they've been fighting lately, Chelsea and Man City are tough tough opponents and Everton away is never a formality. In fact, three of the four games are away and the only home tie is the hardest opponent, Man City. So dont bet on Newcastle to make the CL quite yet!
Told you Newcastle weren't home and dry yet. You wouldn't fancy them to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge either. Also if Stoke can hold out five more minutes, points dropped for Arsenal too.

Fourth place still very much on the cards for us.
