Betting duo banned!
The Disciplinary Commission has handed Francesco Flachi of Sampdoria and Atalanta’s Moris Carrozzieri two-month bans as the result of a betting enquiry.
The two players were indicted in October 2005 and August 2006, and were accused of “trying to obtain information on the final result of some football matches, in order to allow third parties to place their bets and be sure to win.”
The matches in question were Roma-Lazio in Serie A and Pisa-Frosinone in Serie C1, both dating back to 2004-05, when Flachi (pictured) and Carrozzieri played for Samp.
Flachi was accused of trying to obtain information on the Rome derby by contacting his former teammate Fabio Bazzani on behalf of a group of gamblers in Liguria, while Carrozzieri called Gian Luca De Angelis of Frosinone to see if his team “would be content with a draw.”
The Commission based their investigation on telephone interceptions and decided to ban the players because of their behaviour, which proved to be “against the duties of loyalty, integrity and honesty.”
Sampdoria were also deemed guilty of objective responsibility in this case and were sentenced to pay a €20,000 fine to the Lega Calcio.

Inter To Appeal Against Vieira Ban

MILAN - Patrick Vieira has been handed a three-match ban by the Italian Football League's Disciplinary Committee following his sending-off in stoppage time at the end of the second half in Wednesday's Serie A match against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Two matches have been added to the automatic one-match suspension as the player, according to an Italian Football League statement, "used abusive language towards the referee when sent off in the 48th minute of the second half". F.C. Internazionale will appeal against the ban.

I think a three match ban is ridiculous. Although I'm not a fan of Viera, he's an important player so losing him for 3 games will be a huge blow. I don't know why they added two more games, considering the yellow card was a misunderstanding between the referee not seeing what happened and the second yellow card wasn't a nasty challenge.

Cambi is still injured and training seperately so that doesnt leave us with too many options in the middle. Stanko and dacourt (who i dont particularly like) are the only ones that can really play there.
Viera still bothers me, ive never liked him as a player and at the rate hes picking up reds hes hurting the team

In my opinion Dacourt sucks and I have no idea why he's been playing so much lately. I think they should play Zanetti, Stankovic, Figo, Gonzalez for the next match while Viera is away on ban.

We play Cheivo this weekend so it should be an easy game. They aren't a small team, but they also aren't a big team so having no defensive midfielder wouldn't really be a huge lose if we keep attacking for the whole 90 minutes.
We definately miss Cambiasso, but in my opinion we are better with Dacourt on the bench.

Mancini will probably play with a defensive midfielder, but I wouldn't for this game considering Dacourt is the only option :P. In my opinion Roma got ride of a player who hurts the team when they let Dacourt go :P.
