The joke that is FIFA 2004 (my opinions)

While on my travels around town today I happened to come across an X Box in my local GameStation. After reading much positive hype about the game I decided to give it a play. I wasn't too pleased. These are my opinions. Firstly I'm going to p*ss on the bonfire of those who longed for true authenticity. To get the best test of this me and my mate decided to play as our fair cities rival teams, Stoke City (Division 1) and Port Vale (Division 2). Straight away I noticed that Port Vale were wearing last seasons shirt with old sponsor and badges. Players are absolutley nothing like there real life counter parts, though atleast they got the skin colours right, nearly. To my amazement Port Vale had better stats than Stoke. Very angry was I! To make things even worse the players look like they're made out of plastic thanks to the new light sourcing.

BUT WE ONLY CARE ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY, I hear you cry.

This is where the game really shows its flaws. Firstly the passing is terrible, passes go straight to feet rather than in the path of running wingers thus making the game play sluggish. Even more sluggish is the dribbling control, players seems to take an age to turn even when they're not sprinting. The only positive I can have about the game play is the shooting which is very accurate, though some may argue it's too accurate! So once again EA Sports have made prats of ourselves and most of all themselves.

Ive been told that my team Lincoln have got there old sponsor and last seasons away kit in the game. Its dissapointing to hear the players are nothing like they are inreal life, if EA are to have the Nationwide leagues in the game surely they can at least give them the latest kits and sponsors:kader:

Division 1 teams have there latest kits. I could've cried when I saw what they'd done to Stokes players, and since when has Karl Asaba been bald!

The top half of my post wasn't the main concern. The game play is most improtant and it just feels spoilt after FIFA 2003.

i haven't play the game yet so i won't argue about the gameplay .hope that it's better from last year, the demo i think clearly showed that the game is better than fifa 2003,but let's wait and see(H)

You only played it at a game shop... I would gather for less than an hour. Not saying you have to like the game, but considering you didn't even know there was a through pass button to play the ball into space, it sounds as though you haven't really gotten into the game yet.

Jajajajaja LOL... "My home town team, Las abejitas de satelite isn't there!!!, ohhh, I almost forgot! my school team isn't there!!!!! What's wrong with this game!!! They promised OTB and it isn't there!!!"...

There is a reason why companies created product manuals.... also... both teams are from the nationwide league.... c'mon... if you play manu vs leeds i bet manu even has the black uniform

The gameplay looks really good so far in the demo. Considering I have not played the full game or know all the tricks I think it'll only get better.
