Is is true that we have dumb asses in our country? Ah yeah, but I'm sure I can fill up this thread with videos of lunatics from just about every country around the world. The dumb ass gene doesn't discriminate when it comes to race, creed, or origin. People can say what they want but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world.

I'm not hating, it's just that you have the control of practically everything, you should give a better example, because you have the best universities in the world and the best economy. I'm sure the stupidity exists all over the world, but It really pissed me off that they don't even knew a country that begins with 'U':sKIp_E:

So your saying that I cant go to Colombia or any Euro country or Middle Eastern country and find their version of sidewalk rednecks and ask them questions about the world they don't know? I find that hard to believe Sepak. The video is hilarious, you can see the same thing nightly on just about every late night comedy show or the Jon Stewart show.

I never said that, you will find a lot idiots here too, but We are a little coffee exporter country, We don't have not even a quarter of the oportunities you have, you got no idea what I've done to get a scholarship to study outside Colombia, but that's nearly impossible, it's probable that I'm simply jealous of your fortune.
I mean, my University is 381 ranked in the world(the best in the country) and it's about to fall apart for the goberment carelessness.

Yeah "coffee". I guess it's a stimulant (btw. I am aware loads of coffee is exported from Colombia, most kidding around).

I think obviously the video has taken the best answers they can to show the stupidity of the people answering, but I'm still concerned about some of the ignorance to the rest of the world.

That is the main issue I have with the general US population. Obviously there are exceptions, but as a whole the US knows much much less about the rest of the world than other nations (esp of similar socio-economic standing). And as Sepak pointed out, that's scary as the US has such a big influence on a world scale.

Jschuck - really, you'd not want to live ANYWHERE else? Why is that? Do you not think there are other nations that offer everything you get from the US? I'm not saying your statement is wrong, just wondering if you're of the opinion "ignorance is bliss", if you just haven't thought things through, or if you really don't feel you can get what you get in the US elsewhere.

Well your right I haven't walked in your shoes, but honestly its not all candy and roses. A larger part of the population lives at or below the poverty level and jobs aren't as plentiful as you think unless you live in the Northeast corridor, California, or Texas. Maybe I see it a bit different because everyday I'm at work all I see is the most tragic side of whats taking place in our economy.

I'm quite aware of U.S economic crisis, but there's no comparison between the big U.S. and third world countries, what you might consider being poor might mean living well here

I was more referring to nations with very similar cultures - Canada, UK, NZ, Australia for starters.

Do you have no interest in those places? Would you not like to ever experience living in one of them? Australia for its beaches, Canada for its ski slopes (and general ease of living - most surveys seen to consistently put Canadian cities as the most "liveable"), NZ for similar reasons to Canada, etc etc.

I'm not doubting you don't, just interested in someone with that opinion, as I'm the opposite. I'd love to live nearly anywhere for a while. Going on holiday doesn't compare to living somewhere. Holidays you scrape the surface, you don't live.

you know in my country, which is Turkey, there was a similar Tv show.. they said it's been discovered that the pyramids were our own cultural heritage and they've been hijacked from our soil and moved to egypt, and asked the people's opinion.. and one, supposedly history teacher talked about it half a minute long, saying such a shame it was..

I guess one out of ten people are dumb enough to give answers like that, but they're of course eliminating the other nine reasonable answers before we get to see it..

The education system in the States is terrible considered the resources it has compared to other countries, so it's more magnified with the overabundance of ignorance, idiocy and ineptness in such a powerful country. I think that's more or less what he's trying to get at.
