We are playing really great now, it's a shame we got of with such a bad start to the season, or else we could still have a real chance to win the Liga. Still, that was a sweet win yesterday.

I already said it was obvious Porto would win the title this season, and yes they had and have merit. Also Benfica's bad start to the league was a huge handicap.

But what happened in Braga is just very sad. Benfica players getting hit with golf balls and whatnot with the match continuing, the speaker insulting and provoking the Benfica fans during the match even, the referreing, Sporttv not showing the front angles footage to the public in key plays (yes, it was an enormous blunder by Roberto, but Alan fooled Garcia before he even threw the ball away, with no free kick for Braga taking place), etc. If I didn't know I would think the match was taking place in a ******* third world country.

Congratulations on the title, nevertheless.

It's amazing that all you have to say is that, even when he's congratulating you on the title. And when we know that all he said is true. You're so annoying.

I guess Fili also knows how to read the stars...(H)

about the Javi incident, ok, lets say he was fouled first...that doesn't give him the right to puch the opponent in the chest next and expect to get away with it.

A punch in the chest? Surely you haven't seen the images of that play STV didn't want to show the viewers. But they have been released on youtube.

This from an English TV channel (so that you don't accuse the commentator of being a Benfica fan)

Front view of that play (omitted by Sporttv during the match)

Other situations in the match, including Saviola's inexistent foul that would leave him free on goal.

It's also unbelievable how Kaká managed to end the match without seeing at least a second yellow...

in that view what I still see is Javi lauching his arm towards Alan's chest after their collision (as I said before you can argue that was a foul by Alan)...and watching it in the other angle, I don't have a single doubt about it being a punch.

but I see your bullcrap and raise you this:

...and I rest my case, it's not like I expect us to agree anyway.

I don't know about Tiago, but I'm not saying that we lost the league with this game, nor because of the referee. Both compilations you two showed are pathetic, some plays are just to pathetic to even comment.
I think we leave the game being more prejudiced than Braga, not because I'm a Benfica supporter, nor because I'm whining the lost league, just because I think that's what happened. Can that option be considered? Imo, Javi's sent off was a really bad decision. At most, I would give a yellow card to both players, if I had to sent someone off I would surely send both. Two aggressions in the same play, first by Alan, which doesn't give Javi the right to make that after. Then, the goal came from that play (and Roberto amazing skills off the posts). It was a decision that changed the whole game to us, because we lost probably our most important player in this type of matches, it sure had a great influence on the match, much more than any other decision in the game.

I didn't mean that. I know you understood what I meant. Again....

My point is this ref was clearly against Benfica in this specific match. Javi's sending off is pathetic, among other decisions.

But that's one thing.

Other issues that seem to be being forgotten and need to be adressed are the following:

1) SC Braga "fans" behavior throwing golf balls etc. to the players, who could easily create a serious injury. I don't think I need to tell anyone what can happen when you're hit by a golf ball in the head from the stands' distance.

2) Braga's stadium speaker provoking and flamming Benfica fans during the match, further promoting more violence. I.e. Starting the "filhos da ****" chants.

3) Sporttv deliberately omitting the front angle images of Javi's sending off play during the match.

So, are you gonna say this is bull**** too?? Maybe these are just normal things in a third world country, I suppose I should apologize then for aiming to higher standards.

Look, this last part of the post has nothing to do with the ref, I simply refuse to believe this is accepting behavior, in a stadium or anywhere else, we're not animals ffs. And everybody is condoning these actions.

If Javi Garcia punched Alan, why Alan was with his hands on the throat, when the hand touched the chest? And when we kick the ball, its normal that the arm comes forward too + the foul by Alan = its normal that the arm hit the chest. But its ok. That was some vicious strike by Javi Garcia, almost stopped Alan's heart from beating.. and made some kind of effect on the throat too, because poor Alan, he was suffering so much.

If you guys think that was a red card, its ok to me.
