Next qualifier is June 4 against Slovakia, at Estádio da Luz, if I'm not mistaken. After that, we travel to Estonia on the 8th.

Yea, yea, I remember him. Think I saw him play once in 03/04, and then Camacho left him to rot. Now he's apparently "good" enough for the Selecçao. Unbelieveable.

The fact is that he's doing a good season at Vitória, great actually.

I don't like him too, i think he's not good enough to be at the call-up, but with Paulo Ferreira injured who can he call?

I agree, i don't understand this, guess is one of Scolari's mysteries or it's a player he doens't like.. maybe like a similiar situation with Baía, i mean you can try to explain, but i don't see any reasonable explanation..

Abel, Nelson, Rui Duarte (actual rightbacks unlike Alex)

Boavista's Nelson is actually Cape-Verdian, so he's not elegible to play for Portugal. He doesn't even have a Portuguese Passport.

Still, there's a quite reasonable crop of right-backs in Portugal ahead of Alex. In fact, Alex is down in the pecking order in my books. No reason to this call-up IMO...

Laranjeiro from Leiria should have been called for the RB, at least that's his true position and he's pretty consistant

At least one thing is for sure (I hope), Abel and every RB else will only get a call if Ferreira or/and Miguel are injured.

But yeah that's a good prediction...he'll get a call as soon as he arrives to the portuguese orgy there in Russia

Nelson is not Portuguese like Eminem refered, but i believe he's on a naturalization process. Yes, that would be a good option.

Abel and Rui Duarte are at the same level of Alex at the moment.

Oh, and Miguel wasn't a right back also, and now he's our best option (when he's a 100%).
