About the game, im generally satisfied with our performance and besides Pauleta (even so he ran alot) im pleased with the performance of our players, globally and individually. Slovakia was never dangerous and we were always in control. The attitude of the players was excellent and the atmosphere was magnificent. We are a step closer to the Mundial and it´s all thanks to the players and Felipão. Keep up the good work.

Atenção Atenção !!! Acabei de falar com um amigo meu acerca deste episódio infeliz e afinal ainda foi pior. Parece que o jornalista se virou para Mari Alkatiri e disse Ipsis verbis "Timor-Leste nunca vai ter um estádio como este" e depois prossegui com a sua obra-prima e rematou o seu bom trabalho jornalistico com a pergunta supracitada. Parabéns jornalista anónimo e ignorante, com essa pérola, essa fífia monumental, mereces ser considerado o Ricardo do jornalismo. É incrivel como uma estação de televisão pública se permite a contratar jornalistas desta craveira. Bem depois de ver aquela correspondente ridícula em Madrid Rosa Veloso, ser gozada pelos próprios espanhóis por causa da pergunta "Então o que acha da gravidez de Letícia Ortiz? Acha que vai ser bom para Espanha?" já nada me surpreende.

About the game itself, Ronaldo is defenately the MOM, great dribbling, passing, shooting (excelent free kick).. skill. He sure has it, and pushed Portugal forward so many times.
Another note to Deco - was at his level, nice match as well, and Alex kinda surprised me, i knew he made a good season as a right-back, but he actually did well in Today's match, nice debut for Portugal.

On to the game.

Think this was Portugal's 2nd finest performance in this qualifying, after the infamous Russian Salad.

Slovakia is a great team, but we never noticed that yesterday. Portugal made them look like a 2nd div. european side, which they proved not to be throughout this qualifying.
We have to thank the commitment of our players, their effort and determination, our coaches, and above all Slovakia's manager. Our defense played with 3 subs - making our traditional weakest spot weaker - but Dusan Galis chose not to exploit it, leaving the flanks wide open and one striker lost between Meira and Andrade.
Guys, Alex and Caneira were good, but they had nobody on them! Slovakia didn't have wingers to cause them problems, so both of them had an open road right onto Slovakia's defence.

Our players did well, with the exception of Pauleta - too slow and always offside. And Ronaldo is out of this world. Great to see him developping his skills, adding more weaponry to his arsenal of tricks and moves. He's turning into the real deal.

Unbelievable, we got a 20yo dude carrying our team to the next WC. I mean, try to see it as if you didn't know the team or the players and just learned about the facts. This is just .

Alex's crosses were perfect...

But i agree, he wasn't given much work to do... so about his defensive capabilities, i'm still waiting to see against a more powerfull team, with a strong Wing play... but his display was reasonable... Jorge Andrade was the best unit in defence

Pauleta sucked almost the entire game... i wonder why Postiga came in so late in the game.... and i still think Ricardo should be benched....

This has nothing to do with football at all, but it is a portuguese national team and I think it deserves a mention:

Portugal conseguiu ontem a sua primeira vitória frente ao Brasil, quebrando um enguiço que durava há largos anos. A selecção portuguesa nunca tinha conseguido melhor do que vencer um set, mas, fruto de uma grande exibição, acabou mesmo por surpreender os campeões mundiais, olímpicos e tri-vencedores da Liga Mundial, por um esclarecedor 3-0, recuperando assim a liderança no grupo A.

Apesar do muito público brasileiro que se deslocou até Almada, os jogadores comandados por Orlando Samuels, ajudados também pelos adeptos portugueses, superaram-se e corrigiram muitos dos erros cometidos na véspera, forçando mesmo a que o Brasil - que não perdia por 3-0 desde 2003, frente à Itália - acusasse a pressão, tratando-se de uma equipa em fase de renovação.
