BUT WHY FOR CHRIST SAKE????? he has ZERO games (ZERO!!!) this season in his club, he had a PATHETIC display in the last U21 game in Russia and don't even get benched on valencia... why don't call Silas who is making a great season start? or Duda? Haha Punkt good show. Yeah, you are absolutely right, but hey we are already used to this. What can i/we say about this? I/we already said everything in the last "convocatórias". He doesn´t care, he doesn´t watch any game and uses "táticas de diversão de atenção" like going to Setúbal to watch Nandinho (went there prolly to eat "peixe grelhado no restaurante Verde e Branco). Do you think he knows who Duda is? He doesn´t. There are a couple of players playing abroad/Superliga that already deserved a chance of getting called up. He has this core of players that he called from the beggining and these will be the players he will use till the end of his Portugal Nt coach career. He won´t change now, it´s pointless.

I'd complain about some of his choices, but it'd make no sense since we're still UNDEFEATED! Besides it's Liechtenstein. The team he chose should easily win the game.

Looks like Miguel returns after all, have to admit I'm surprised.

One player I'd like to see return is Sergio Conceicao, from what I've been reading he's playing very well in Belgium, scorring goals, and is very influential to the team. Conceicao was one of the few players who always gave 100% to the NT shirt, he deserves to at least be considered by Scolari. IMO anyway..

agree with u Shiji 100% sergio conceicao was IMO one of the most under appreciated portuguese players of all time. This guy would give 100% every game for the NT, especialy when the Like of Figo's and Rui Costa's couldn't care less. Aka the Finland game where Sergio scored a great goal and ll three games in the WC 2002.

I'll always remember seeing him cry when portugal was eliminated in the WC, while Figo and Co. complained about the FPF not paying them for their services. Remember that Brazil game where he and Paulo Ferreira tore the right side apart and made Roberto Carlos look like the half-assed defender he is.

Mad respect for Sergio, hate the way he left Porto....cuz i know a Conceicao at 100% health would be great for our team

Sergio was great, but now we have someone better. Cristiano Ronaldo. And we all know he plays his heart out for Portugal.

It's a good thing Sergio Conceicao gets his good performance. Hope he'll get a call up. He didn't do so well at Inter.

There's always a place for a player like Conceicao though, IMO.. His skill, heart, and experience would be very valuable heading into the WC, we're talking about a player who after Figo and Rui Costa was easily our third best player for like a decade. It's a shame he's been sort of forgotten at Standard Liege.

Same here. And I agree with you 100%: he should at least be considered by Scolari.
He was such a great talent, mixing speed, technique and power, but somehow he became really awful like from day to night. Don't know what happened with him, if it was the injuries or some personal problem, but even if he's just 75% of his old self he could be useful to the NT. Remember he can play on the left and right, and as a winger or full-back.

O extremo do Standard de Liège não compreende a razão de não ser chamado há algum tempo para a Selecção Nacional e desmente que tenha existido algum tipo de indisciplina que tivesse provocado o seu afastamento.

«Podem fazer um frente a frente para dizerem quais foram os actos de indisciplina na Selecção. Não existiu nada da minha parte e posso jurar pelas coisas mais sagradas que tenho na minha vida, que são os meus filhos», vincou Sérgio Conceição, em declarações à Antena 1.

O internacional português assegura que essa situação de indisciplina foi meramente uma desculpa para exclui-lo da Selecção, uma vez que outros regressaram: «Utilizaram isso como desculpa e a grande prova que não existiu nada é que Meira e Maniche foram chamados e eu não fui.»

Sérgio Conceição até recorda que não pode ser uma questão de idade ou de falta de forma: «Não tenho explicação, tinha na altura 29 anos, ou seja, não sou um jogador acabado e temos jogadores muito mais velhos na selecção. Aliás, estão jogadores que não estão em forma na selecção, que não jogam na selecção, mas aquilo que mais me desiludiu foi o modo como lidaram com a situação. Mesmo tendo em conta toda a desilusão demonstrada pelo internacional português em não fazer parte dos planos de Scolari, Sérgio Conceição não quis deixar de desejar boa sorte a Portugal e que garanta a qualificação.

Well, one thing is sure, to use a stupid senseless excuse to kick him out is really shameful.. I too don't think he deserved that after giving all for the NT..
