Sporting is my favorite Portuguese team, so I hope they can make it to the final in Alvalade.

I know they are doing great in the dutch league, and also in Europe, so it's not gonna be easy, if that's the draw.
But comparing with the other teams, they don't have as a strong name as the others.
Besides that, Sporting always wins against dutch teams, it's an historic fact.

They already beat Auxerre, Rangers and Shakhtar. Just don't underestimate them; they're not one of the top-3 teams that you guys usually play.

Wow, Parma knocked out Sevilla with a depleted squad, what an accomplishment. Newcastle looks like the best team at the moment, but if Parma can get out of relegation zone and start playing their best lineup, they could win it all.

Am i right in thinking the Sporting fans were scared of drawing the Toon?

I'm pleased with the draw as i think we can beat any of those teams over the two legs.

I wouldn't say scared.
If we can beat Feyenoord and Boro with 4 wins, and being the 2nd leg in Lisbon, I'd say we have some chances.
For me, it's 55% for Newcastle, 45% for Sporting.

I actually don't think it's such a bad draw for Sporting....I think English teams match up well against Portuguese. Mainly because typically they don't man-mark as close in midfeild. I'd give Sporting about a 5% chance vs. a team like Parma, but against Newcastle it's 50-50 IMO.
