Time to apogize to Malcolm Glazer

Come on Manchester United Fans, it's time to apologize. You were so freaking wrong about him when he was buying your club that it is now time to come into this thread and say "I was wrong. I do not know as much about my club, Manchester United, or the game of football (soccer), as Malcolm Glazer and his family. In the future I will shut up about any issue because I have shown worse foresight than George W. Bush in Iraq."

Say it. Say it now, or take the trophy out of your sig and go form your own club. What happened to that plan again? Oh yeah, Glazer rejuvenated your club, brought it back to Europe's Elite, and you hopped right back on the bandwagon. Time to pay the piper. Who's man enough to admit they were horribly, horribly wrong?

I had my views on Glazers and still do. They havent rejuvenated anything. Because success on the pitch and determination to win trophies has always been there and never lost. The only positive thing Glazers have done is back sir Alex Ferguson all the way in the transfer market and so on and reassure him and the fans of hardly any changes.

Please tell fellow american how Glazers have rejuvenated our club apart from put us in 300 million pounds/ 500 million dollars plus of debt and made us the most debt ridden club in Europe. The only thing saving us from Leeds part 2 is the fact we earn loads of profit through merchandising, ticket sales and Tv money and our success on the pitch. If not for those we would be finished. Glazers havent done anything remarkable.

They have backed the manager which is important. Hopefully the money won from the premiership will be put back in the club for new signings. Approximately 50 mil!

Glazers are just the owners. The real hardwork is done by the Players, Coaching staff and the Manager himself. If not for them we would be in real trouble and our debt will worsen. These guys are helping keep us alive by delivering on the pitch and in training the players. Glazers are the ones who own the club and forcefully took over putting us in serious debts.

I support the club end of story. I dont support the forming of another team because of owners i also dont support Glazers.

What does Malcolm know about football? Hardly anything, I'd say. I'd be surprised if he knew the offside rule. He left the football to Fergie.

How has he? The only change to the team has been Carrick, and that would have happened Glazer or not. He's done f*ck all thats contributed to this winning campaign.

Hahahahahaha, dumbass.

If you have a problem with the debt, pay it off. If you have no problem with the debt and would rather buy more players, then stop talking about it.

You know what I didn't see these past two seasons? Christiano Ronaldo being sold for an easy profit. That's an easy 50M right there. And it would have been even easier since all of England hated him after the World Cup.

Why apologize? What did he do to make Man Utd better? Nothing. All he has done is to halt our signings due to the debts. As if he was the reason why man utd won the league

Ok we may have kept our players but the fact remains that less players are being transferred in due to the debt. So logically, Glazer did nothing positive for the club. The potential money that could be used to buy players is going into the debt. Without Malcolm, the team would probably be stronger with more signings.

Give me one way in which he 'brought Man utd back to the elite.' What did he do? Improved our budget? no. Bring in more players? no. So what then?? Even I don't know. Maybe you know more than I do.

yeah, apologize for what? It's not like it was Glazer scoring all those goals or him giving a pep talk to our players before every game.

Apologize for not selling Ronaldo for a quick profit? Glazer may not know anything about football, but he certainly knows a lot about business and not a single smart businessman would trade its biggest money-maker for a quick buck, a recipe for a disaster. Glazer didn't borrow heavily to pay it off the next day, when he tookover, he had a plan how to repay it off.

Glazer didn't win us the title, infact he limited us from spending any money that was won from previous seasons. Carrick was paid by selling players, not other revenue, so how did he help us? Make us spend a bit smarter? Yes and that's about it. So, no, still **** Glazer.

If the Glazers can replace Scholes, Neville and Giggs and continue the success after Ferguson retires, then I'll apologise. The clubs signings so far have been paid for by the sale of other players, next season the ticket prices will go up and the club will change its kits after one season, so I can see the Glazers digging deep into the clubs finances to fund transfers anytime soon.

Agreed. Glazer is smart, but he's not the reason for the success this year. That was the players, manager, trainers and physios (until the end of the season, we didn't have injury troubles. that's not a coincidence), ballboys, and other varying assistants. But not Malcolm. I think he'll even admit that: he's the money; he hires people to actually create a winning team with the finances he provides (and was fortunate enough to have Fergie as part of the deal when he got the club).

Shifty this thread is lame. Glazer's done as much about this season's success as Vince Carter has done about an Alberta kid's overgrown toe nail.

No, the point of the thread was that you guys b!tched so much about him before, and now you are saying he didn't interfere at all with the overall success of the club... therefore Shifty has a point.

Exactly, a good owner leaves it to the managers and coaches. He also freed up the cash for Van Der Sar, your best player (sorry Ronaldo and Rooney fans), two summers ago.

No, that would be a smart owner, otherwise you get Real Madrid.

The operations are and have always been left to the manager and coaches, regardless of the Glazers' presence. How did the Glazers make any sort of positive-influence on that front? You cannot say that Uncle Malcolm is necessarily a better owner than one of the 1% shareholders back in the day.

No Shifty did not have a point. He said, "Glazers REJUVENATED this club". Glazers did not interfere, and did not REJUVENATE.

FACT: In spite of all these problems you see him creating, you won the title this year after a long drought when you were clearly the 3rd best club in England. Since he took over you are arguably the best. Better domestically than Liverpool and probably the equal of Chelsea at home and abroad. You weren't sniffing the title before May 2005.

FACT: Since 2005 you have bought van der Saar, Vidic, Evra, Park, and Carrick. All extremely important to your title. He has not dismantled the club, like most of you shouted from rooftops that he would do, and he has not alienated fans. If anything this season has brought you all together.

He was absolutely vital to the success, and your turn around does not happen without him no matter what you want to claim. You are so mad that you haven't bought more players, but for what!? You won the league, outperformed all but two teams in the CL and still have a shot to win the FA Cup. Even with more depth, you could have screwed up the chemistry and failed. Honestly what more do you want?

Plus, your club is very clearly on the rise right now. You aren't going to go down, you're going to get better. The team is young and extremely solid. And by the way you did make an enormous bid for Owen Hargreaves that will likely be accepted this summer, which really destroys your argument that he isn't willing to splurge on transfers. Perhaps he is just willing to splurge on wise transfers and not on bench players?

He has done EVERYTHING right and nothing wrong. Unless you want to complain about arguably your second best season ever, I think you guys should just eat the crow and apologize to the man. He has done everything a good owner could do.

Glazer hasn't done anything wrong, but you can't argue that any of our successes were down to him, it's really taking credit from Ferguson who is the key man at the club without him we would be nothing.

Yeah, but Fergie was there when Man U were third best too. Many people were trying to push him out the door and thought he was past it.
