Just an idea here, but how about the commentators announcing custom made players via a speach recognition device? I know that this can't be perfect, but would seem kind of cool. Whats the deal with online play anyway? Does FIFA allow any online play other than direct modem? If not, this should be the number one change for EA.

Hmmm, I didn't read all of your messages, so maybe I have some ideas which are already here.
I like:
-More realistic crowds. Now if I am playing an awaygame and I score, the whole stadium is jumping. Maybe they can create an awaycrowd section...more rivality between the home and awaycrowds. No fighting (can be a cheat
) but just singing.
-More songs for the different clubs. Like You never walk alone...
-More skills to pass a defender..and easytouch buttons for them. Not like the difficult CTRL and ALT-combinations.
-Much more fireworks and real smoke on the field.
-The weather has to improve...my first match in August started with snow!! That's not realistic, so weather depend on season.
-When it rains, the field remains the same. I like to see slidingmarks and muddy gameplay when it rains or snows. Maybe the players clothes can become filthy.
-Top5 stadiums of eacht country. Like for Holland. DE KUIP for Feyenoord, that indoorsportcomplex the Arena
, and so on...(also the Willem II stadium for Ducky
)

So far..no further things...please let me know what you guys think of it..also say if the are already said..

I agree with all the suggestions you guys have posted so far. I have a few points which I sincerely hope EA will improve in FIFA 2001:

1. Slower Game Speed;
2. Squad Selection in International Teams (like in RTWC'98);
3. Better Nevigation in Freekicks;
4. Keepers' chance to get out of position, allowing us to score long-range goals;
5. More Players in each team;
6. Player Creation Mode (as in NBA Live and NHL 2000);
7. More Detail Kit Editor;
8. Chances to shoot wide at goal;
9. Players' No. Editor (as in ISS Pro);
10. No more 360 degree of spinning;
11. Larger Pitch;
12. Create bench players during game;
13. Referees and Linemans during game;
14. Keepers often deflect a shoot;
15. Keeper not always hold on to the ball whenever he makes a save!
16. No more 9:7 or 6:5 Scoreline;
17. More realistic team standing (e.g. Man U and Arsenal should not be in the bottom of the league);
18. Player Transfer System (no cash balance involved) for update purposes.

These are only some changes that I really hope to see in FIFA 2001. Hope those Canadians at EA Sports will read this and do something!

I don't think novelties such as beach football etc are a good idea since they detract from putting in real features.

1) More room for players to run and pass especially defenders and in midfield (more realistic)

2) Power bar as seen in EPL Stars is good (but the gameplay from that game isn't)

3) Proper shirts (preferably with sponsers)

4) Varying commentary and random comments (eg during the game if you are soming 5th in the league they could say "They really need to win this game to get a UEFA Cup spot next season").

5) Realistic crowd (with flags, banners, flares, scarves) would be good but maybe this is limited by today's computers?

6) Good and bad form

7) Fatigue carries over if players play many games together.

8) ALL NATIONAL TEAMS ACCURATE AND UP-TO-DATE!!! (and ability to pick squads.)

I hear all of you guys wishing things around, so next, I am trying to list the most popular.
Most of you ask for:
1. Bigger Pitch
2. Slower Gameplay
3. Realistic Scorelines
4. More Realistic Gameplay altogether

So, I get the idea that all of you actually LIKE a footie game that represents the beautiful one. FIFA has been lots of things, but never, since FIFA96, has been successful to be realistic (personally, I 've never seen a match between two teams, NOT being Sunday League, end up in a scoreline 7-5!).

And then I go and wonder... Has anyone of you tried to play the Konami series? ISS for the Playstation?..

If you want a bigger pitch, straight powerful shots, box jams, perfect lobbed-or-not through balls, keepers rushing out, late forward runs, all in all a game resembling real football, give ISS Evolution a shot. You might stick with it.

You 've probably hated my reasoning by now, but let me conclude:
Electronic Arts is a very powerful company. Do not think that they CANNOT do what you all wish for. Contemporary technology provides for all that you wish and more.
What is wrong with EA is that they have adopted a wrong philosophy on what a football game should be like. You wish to play video game football as it is played in reality. They think you wish to dive into a football paradise where Juventus and Ajax draw at 7-7!
I hope no one gets upset with my message, and I wish for FIFA2001, that Tony Adams will not be able to perform a Pele-like overhead kick, while Ronaldo misses only one out of ten one on ones with any keeper.
Regards,
immortal

I have a good list of changes that could be made. Just see and reply this list.

1)Best leagues of the world should be in the game (Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic).

2)All the players in their teams, not, for example, Simic of Internazionale only in Croatia national team and others.

3)Player's names in the shirts.

4)Complete South American leagues (Argentina and the complete Brazilian League)

5)The real jerseys of the teams. I was based on the latest FIFA 2001 video clip.

6)Less speed in the game

7)Some football menus with players and stadium pictures.

8)Some real life stadiums, like FIFA RTWC 98 and select them before the start of a game

9)Crowds for every league.

10)And make the game-play more realistic, because every one can win every team, have they a good team or not by hundreds of goals.

Thank you for your time.

Best Leagues in the world are Portugal, Turkey and Czech Rep.???

Of course not. Their some of the best leagues.

1 - If you already heard, Sporting, Benfica and Porto are fighting for the championship title, and there are 3 games to go. The championship will be decided in the last game of these three teams.

2 - Did you saw Sparta Praga in the Champions League? This must be all for you.

3 - See Galatasaray? In the UEFA Cup final.

That's why.

1) I think it would be better if EA included first 10 leagues from the Euro ranking and 5 from the World.

2) I may edit players, I may edit teams, leagues in FIFA 98-2000, what about stadiums? I think it would be cool if I coudl build my own stadium wich i prefer. No one said that !

3) Tackles from behind! You know what's the problem.

4) Don't put Lebanon in FIFA2001. There is some better national teams in the world, like Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan (guess not everyone knows where the hell it is
.

5) Don't bonk!

You know the rest, internet play and blah-blah-blah
PS. Russia-USA 2:0 !!! Go Russia!

Please, reply this toppic.

I've got a new wish:
What about a realistic scoreboard.

It can't be that hard to create a scoreboard with teamnames and goals, just like WC 98

I've sent de topic to EA again, but I don't receive a reply.

Personally, if the game were to be on a more expensive disk or multiple disks I wouldnt mind paying more because I would know I would be buying a kick ass soccer game maybe even the best.

anyways, here are some things that would be nice to see in F2K1:

** Different colored numbers would be nice
(on the front, or on the shorts instead
of just on the back.)
** The bigger field is a must have.
** Better looking and easier to edit jerseys
(F2K's jerseys were all stretched out and
blurry, FIFA 99's were way better. And
attempting to edit them just made my
head hurt)
** CHOOSING the stadium you play in would be
nice. Instead of just some random one.
** Better player models, what happened to
the nice ones from fifa 99, now they
look like malnurished monkeys.
** More stuff on the sidelines in general,
the only thing I see are the adboards
that are WAY to far away from the touch
line. Add some cameramen, coaches,
players, anything! Even if they're
cardboard standup looking things.
** The crowd is too cartoony and hyper, even
during boring points of the game they are
cheering they should also boo or taunt
the opposing team instead they cheer the
away team when they score, that's not
right.
** Improved ball physics, no curving ball on
every shot, more ball control while
shooting or passing in general.
** A create-a-team or player mode. Every
single EA game has it except the FIFA
series.
** As I said before get some real sponsors,
for example NIKE, Coca Cola, Adidas,
instead of SKINT or Apollo. How hard can
it possibly be to go and ask for a logo
or name ("No. 9") I'm sure they can give
them a couple of percent of their profit
since the game is pretty much to be a
Best Seller every year it comes out so
why not take a chance and go for it.
** For so many years now I've wished of
seeing the Mexican league or the
Argentinian league in the game but I have
been dissapointed since 98. Haven't they
proved themselves in the Libertadores Cup?
** Somebody please explain to these refs the
theory of "offsides"
In the end I know that none of what I have said will not be even seen by EA but I decided to write this up anyway to see people's reactions. That's pretty much the only reason. Maybe someday, someone who plays or watches soccer may work for EA Sports and fulfill everyones wishes.

Juz to add on to all these great suggestions...

juz 4 things dat reallie bug mi...

1) at the customize team screen where u can select the kits, y not let the player control the spinning of the player model>?
it is veri irritating 2 see him spinning non-stop...

2) y the hell does the jerseys look so crappy when close up>?

3) shouldn't different players wear different boots>? if we can customize the boots for each player, all the better...

4) this is more important... y not show more movies or cut scenes 'bout wat happens in the tunnel b4 n after the match>? like the players lining up in the tunnel b4 the match and celebrating after a win>?

dat's all for now... hope this helps...

More and bigger leagues please, something like in Football Manager (3 divisions with 18 teams each). It would be nice to take a team from the 3rd division and to play all the seasons to the top! Also an year counter would be nice, let's say you take a team in 1989 and you play every season, to win the championship in 1999.
Income summary (for sold tickets for ex.) and spending (player's salaries) should be also mentioned.
Also the value of your players should not stay the same from season to season, when you advance in a superior league the value shoud increase and when you relegate it shoud decrease.

1. Why the players celebrate sooo much when they score their only goal, even though they are led with 7-1 ?
2. How come the fans are so happy and excited when the visitor team scores?
(usually they boooo...)
3. Why there is no skills difference in a way the team plays home or away?

Hey guys i think that there are lots of great ideas posted here, and is kinda cool to read them and feel that you are not the only one playing the game and being involved with it (it´s great to share your thoughts even if you don´t speak english as your main language and live in the butt of the world as i do).
Ghala I read your post and i think that is GREAT!!!! i think that making the game a little bit more like a management game is a great step, because Soccer(Football) at this time is not only playing in the field, everyone that loves soccer knows and enjoys with the signings of new players, the injuries to great players, the tactics of teams, the rumours about players and coaches, etc.
I think that only integrating both playing and management the game will improve (no matter what).
I hope all of you think about your suggestions and try to think a bit more on how possible it is to put it in the new version of FIFA (cause we all dream with a real 3d game in which everything is perfect but we all know which changes are possible and which aren´t)
OK i know i may sound boring so here is my new wish list:
* I have always thought that the team tactics should be free. i mean if i want to play 3-2-5 or 4-3-1-2 i should be able to do it, and that is not happening. And also they should let you choose the place where you want your players to be.
* I would fix the transfer system with the one that ghala proposed. i mean if anyone doesn´t come with a better one (and possible)
* I am not racist nor nationalist, but i think that there are leagues in other countries that are better that the ones the game has( am talking about Norway, Israel,Denmark, etc.) let´s say Portugal and Argentina.
* The people of NHL sure can help the FIFA people with the faces and bodies of players( editing, creating,etc. ) I mean if they can make a cool hockey game why can´t the Fifa people do it as well. EA SPORT PEOPLE WE ALL ARE HUMAN BEINGS AND CAN MAKE MISTAKES, WE UNDERSTAND THAT IS HARD TO KEEP TRACK OF EVERY PLAYER IN EVERY COUNTRY. SO PLEASE LET US CREATE PLAYERS !!!!!!
* In addition to Ghala transfer system: Clubs should decide if they want to sell a player or not. they should at least bargain or negotiate the price.
* I think classics teams was a great idea. Maybe the next fifa could bring some NOT SO OLD teams. i mean the typical game player is not so old to know fifties,sixties or even seventies teams. what if you put some new classic teams like Ajax95, Brazil 94, Real Madrid 93, Barcelona 94 or even France 98.

Well i think i may be boring everyone being so long on this message SORRY
I hope you guys respond these post and add or criticize me at least
CHAO
my friends.
