Tottenham sack Ramos and Comolli

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked coach Juande Ramos, along with sporting director Damien Comolli.

Spurs have also parted company with first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez, following the team's long string of poor results.

The club also confirmed that Portsmouth have agreed to allow Harry Redknapp to talk to Tottenham about the vacancy.

Backroom staff-members Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe will take charge of Sunday's match against Bolton.

The club confirmed the clear-out in a statement on their website.

Spurs are bottom of the Premier League after taking just two points from their opening eight matches this season.

Ramos' last game in charge was Thursday's defeat to Udinese in the Uefa Cup.

Finally, I'm surprised it took so long.

Redknapp has accepted the job. Spurs pay 5 million quid in compensation to pompey.

Harry will sort them out.

I feel Sorry for Ramos losing his Starting Forwards and then not really being able to replace them, what did the board think was going to happen.

If they had of sold Dimitar Berbatov early in the piece and bought some decent replacements it might have been a different story.

I wonder what sort of compensation Ramos is going to be getting

really weird though, seeing as he did awesome with Sevilla and a change of climate screwed him up that bad.

Great appointment in getting Harry straight into replace him. If anyone's going to get them out of this it's him (Y)

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

I heard someone saying that Spurs fans will be relieved, with the appointment of Redknapp, that they are going to avoid relegation. That's a rather brave statement to make after just 1 game...

There are 29 games left and Tottenham are 3 points away from the 15th place. It's not like they're deep down somewhere.

And it looks like Pavlyuchenko did get along with Harry:

Must of been a bombshell in the city of Portsmouth on Saturday night - I couldn't believe Harry went to Spurs - he seemed really happy at Portsmouth. I wonder if Tony Adams will step up now?

The rediculous thing is, who thought that Spurs would be in a position to worry about relegation - even minus Berba and Keane?

Looks like Adams is not going to Spurs, which if you think about it isn't that surprising. Harry has taken Kevin Bond to WHL as his assistant.

With the players he has at his disposal, Harry will mould them into a good team. As the man himself said this morning, " If you cant get quality players like this organised, confident and playing well, then you shouldn't be in management in the first place".

Harry will give the Spurs fans their pride back. Levi couldn't have signed a better replacement for Juande (I'll get the sack) Ramos.

Its a shame all those arseholes who abused Sol Campbell will also benefit, but for the majority of Spurs fans, the decent ones, I wish them good luck.

I'd have been surprised if Adams followed Harry to be honest. He's spoken at various points as to how being Arsenal boss is eventually his aim, and so Spurs would be a terrible career move!

Ramos is not all that anyway, he had a good team to work with even without Keane and Berbatov. He has Darren Bent who used to score loads for Charlton and Pavlyuchenko who's a talented striker who had a very good Euro. They have nearly one international per position and he should have done better, period.

He managed 5 wins after winning the Cup for Tottenham and that's mediocre. Harry will sort Spurs out, he knows his stuff and by February they wont be anywhere near the relegation spots.

how ironic. I reckon 3 games should give us a better perspective

I don't think there should be any doubt about Harry's credentials at all. We all know that Spurs possess some very good players, and all it takes is a guy with Harry's talent to get them functioning properly. There aren't that many people who thought Harry couldn't do it. He has done wonders with enough clubs in trouble to deserve the reputation he has.

He must think he's in dreamland at Spurs with the talent that he has to play around with.

Beating 'pool 2-1 today? Surely nobody still doubts the guy.
