I've always disliked Ronaldo, and until he stops it with those meaningless tricks and grows up i will continue to dislike him.

Now go play PES cuz that's probably where u get all your "soccer Knowledge"

I've supported United all my life. You dont know the facts! I have say your more of a panzee than i thought. Then again you seem like a 10 year old. Go perfect your tan and stop argueing like a woman. I have more knowledge than you how old are you really??? YOu do suck Ronaldo even he knows that. When the world cup comes we'll see what your newspapers say about him. Now go clean your lips then return to the beach and perfect your tan. Arrogant european! :ewan:

in Portugal YES. Benfica vs Sporting or Porto is high rivalry. i could say pure hate in some cases.

But won't it hurt your lungs badly then :O I for one wouldn't be able to speak for weeks after booing someone non-stop for 90 minutes :) Wouldn't it make more sense to cheer your own team rather than boo the rival?

Anyways, fair enough, I'll lay off this subject but still, strange phenomenon it certainly is. The non-stopping booing of the once a rival club player I mean. Though it had nothing to do with the result of the game, that has to be said again.

stop the moaning and b*tching and go to bed.
C. Ronaldo has been ur best NT player since a year and a half. His goals have certainly helped. and if u talk about a meaning less tricks then why the hell dont u try even one of em? the guy is 20 and earns 100 times more than you, is loads more famous than you and wil become one of the best players around.

We never claimed that teams in the portuguese leage were scums and always play-acted. they are now proving it to the world themselves.

It was clearly visible how your c*nt gk acted in the ending stages.
I'm not saying united could have won it in the end. they never deserved to win the game.
But the fact that the players in ur team and any other poruguese league team play act is confirmed and is official.

FC Porto did it a couple of seasons ago and now benfica. I have never ever had anything against benfica but i am just dissapointed the way they acted in such an unsporting way .

Some of you are really funny. You think your hurting me by insulting me or Man Utd you're not. You think i didnt hear the racist chanting against Saha yesterday. I even heard the person that was doing it laughing about it too. Says a lot for the fans of Benfica. Yes they were the better team but how can someone not admit that. YOu think i dont know about fans in Portugal. Like mourinho said about utd against chelsea last season. "if man utd had been a portuguese team the players would have been bottled" suprise suprise. And what did Maccarthy say about fans "they think they are not hurting me but they are i am not white". Your fans are lovely people. When your team comes to England we will buy you drinks in the pub. Someone did say "fair play to the Utd fans". But hey i'm not gonna stand here and disrupt your world cup winners like celebration that would be party crashing now wouldnt it!!!..

..I respect portugese i have a friend from there i want to go there on holiday one day. I apologise for my statement about portugal world cup and Ronaldo. But you can continue insulting me or anyone from Honduras if you wish! :jambo:

why is it only the English fans that whine and complain to no end about any diving/time wasting? When we beat Lille nobody mentioned it, when Porto beat Inter nobody mentioned it...come to think of it, it only comes up when a team from the UK loses? It's always the Portuguese are diving cheats, the Germans are diving cheats, the "Argies", the Italians, etc, etc... that excuse is getting old.

Thats English fans behaviour. They would rather cheer there own team. They normally respect opposition! maybe the scottish are a bit more fanatical and boo opposition not the English. maybe in some cases when they feel they have been cheated by the referee they will now boo the opposition or a player who they feel has cheated. If someone dived or play acted they would boo them. Arsenal vs Man utd normally because of the rivalry. Liverpool vs everton same thing but the fans usually mix and there is respect there.

Fans here are usually in bouyant mood and would usually taunt each other or take the mick out of someone. But theres always dark sides. European fans like to bring out the dark side. I have to admit fans have changed here in England over the years. The hooliganism is starting to fade out a bit in England. I really dont know about elsewhere.

But hey Ronaldo is a portugese player visiting the rivals of the club he came from. Lets all jump on the bandwagon and boo and whistle him till his legs start shaking!!! But he'll come and play for us in the national team and we'll love him. well done!

But nobody here has said it is an excuse. Nobody is saying we lost because of the play acting. All we're saying is that it's annoying and shouldn't be done.

WE WOULDN'T HAVE WON THE GAME EVEN IF YOUR PLAYERS HAD STOOD ON THEIR FEET! The way they acted was just annoying and it shouldn't be a part of football.

There.

I'm glad that the majority of Manchester United's fans gave us congrats for yesterday's match and didn't took too much time whinning about those 3 minutes of wasted time. Thanks to them. For those who still think that was such a big thing, maybe you should be questioning why your team lost to a outsider playing with their reserves. That's what I would do. Benfica won fair. Everbody said it, even Ferguson. Geovanni was fouled on the first half, when he was going to the goal (yellow, maybe red) and the referee saw an infraction from him. Nobody from Benfica said nothing about it.
I still think that you have a really nice team, with so many young players...You could do really well in the future if those guys have the chance...and the english press doesn't "kill" them meanwhile.

About the booing...We really respect Manchester United (we have so much history with them...and always in their favour..well, not "always" anymore:)), that's why we were so proud of our result..but people must understand that this was a football game. We need to motivate our players and press the opponents. Do you have any doubt that 90% of the people that were booing Ronaldo yesterday are the ones that scream fo him at the NT matches? It's our paper.. It doesn't mean we don't like him, but as soon as we saw that he was getting nervous and playing crap...Now, the way he acted, just shows how childish he is. And gives us reasons to really boo him next time. There was even people applauding him when he was subbed.
Anyway, it's quite interesting all this talk about Ronaldo because, from what I see, he gets booed everytime he plays away in the Premiership...but ok.

I agree. Personally I blame the refs more than the players, I'd like to see automatic red cards given for blatant dives in the penalty box. That's how to put an end to it. Refs in England are a lot more lenient than In Portugal, Spain, Italy, etc. it's too easy to get fouls called in your favour in those leagues, that's what really fuels the problem IMO.

Because English seem to be the only ones that like to play football without falling to the ground easily. Ronaldo gets booed by away fans not because they are jealous. Nope, because he goes down too easily and that is something english fans cant stand. It gets on there tits! We dont expect everyone in world football to play fair. Its time Sepp Blatter made himself useful and used video evidence to punish players. English and Scottish clubs are always the victims in Europe because people feel they have to cheat to progress in Europe. If that is what it has come to who am i to complain! Maybe next year our players can try it too. But it doesnt suit our style of play. If it works for european players then so be it i cant argue. English teams just have to go out and play as best as they can so this "excuse" doesnt get used again.

If United fans didnt talk about it what does that say about English fans??? Are they still hooligans as seen across the world???? Or are they just trying to support there team and watch a game of of good and fair football not drama.

Exactly. But it's hard for the refs as well, they don't always see the situation clearly and can't automatically tell if the player is diving or is really hurt. Some changes in the rules of the game could help, for example to cut out the situations where a player is carried off on a stretcher and the monment he gets off the pitch he's back up again and ready for action. I would like a rule which states that you can't go back on for say 10 minutes after being carried off, so if someone is carried off the team has to make a substitution or play with 10 men for 10 minutes. I don't think anybody would like to see a stretcher on then. Of course it won't be happening, but something is to be done, I feel.

what a bunch of whining little maggots. :funny:

f*cking funny to beat english teams because although the majority of the supporters are class, there's always these morons that go and pick up the most atrocious excuses to make their team look good or to minimize the loss.

I also wonder why I haven't seen anyone bitching about the non existing foul outside the area on Ruud. Dangerous free kick that could have changed the game. Did we dove on that too?

Quit bitching about 2 or 3 min of wasted time you f*cking morons, you lost because you were sh*t. You couldn't create a real chance besides the goal through the WHOLE 90 MINUTES against a team whose combined value is less than the value of Rooney. PERIOD.

You can face that and shut the f*ck up now.

Virgo, are you arms sore form waving that big-ass confederate flag during the entire match? (H):(

you think that was funny, I remember watching a league game last season (vs. Rio Ave, I think) and a section of Benfica fans put up this banner that looked like a big Ron Jeremy portrait from what I could see! (H)
