A small minority once again blacken the name of another English club.

An interesting quote from one of the stories above regarding Athens says,

"You must ask yourself why at the same match, with the same conditions, there was no trouble with the Milan fans - only the Liverpool fans." That there is a very telling truth indeed.

That was asked by William Gaillard a UEFA spokesperson. Now this guy is very smart indeed and knows what he is talking about. At least that was what I was told by every man and his dog when he called Mourinho an "enemy of football " a couple of seasons back. Back then, in most peoples opinions ( anyone but Chelsea fans that is), he was spot on. Why then are Liverpool fans and their club now insisting the guy is an idiot.

I have read up on both sides of the argument and to be honest, I don't think Liverpool has a leg to stand on.

" Liverpool fans stealing tickets from other Liverpool fans, including stealing the tickets of children. What other club's fans would behave like that." says another quote that stands out. Shocking really.

One Reds fan said, " Well they know what we are like so they should have been prepared for us." Thats just out of order.

We all got banned from Europe once before thanks to Liverpool. I hope that if UEFA are looking to exclude clubs with troublesome fans abroad, that they treat all English clubs seperately and not ban all of us because of a handfull of moronic scouser bindippers.

Wow, you had a really strong argument before you got to moronic scouse bindippers.

...NAAAAT!

Because obviously, if the chavs had got there, they would've acted like upper class gentlemen, as Chelsea fans all conform to the 'posh cnut' stereotype. Every single one.

Even the gloryhunting pikey chavs.

No, the people who got this wrong are UEFA. MORE TICKETS = SMALLER, LESS ANGRY BACKLASH. Basic economies of scale. They got it so woefully wrong when they allocated tickets to corporate fatcats who can't distinguish a left back and a quarter back, and now they're too weak to admit this.

PS Pede54, where's your local? Tell the barman to give you a pint of bitter on me (Y)

How about adding to the debate one way or another instead of the schoolboy taunts about something you know nothing about.

This IS NOT a Chelsea V Liverpool thread, so please DO NOT attempt to make it into one.

I waited and waited to see who would take up this little piece of controversy but nobody did. It's news so it should be discussed ON A FORUM don't you think?

So why didn't the Milan fans behave in the same manner then if it was all UEFA's fault? People who never had a ticket should have stayed away instead of forcing their way into the ground. They are the reason that fans with tickets couldn't get in, it had nothing to do with UEFA at all.

Bitter over what exactly mate? Bitter 'cos my club aint won the league for 17 years or bitter because my club won fu<k all this season. Oh wait....that aint my club its....Yours?:mexican:

Not trying to add any venom, but here's a testimony from a Reds forum that I found pretty horrendous:

Just arrived back now and logged on for this very reason.

The policing was shocking & gates rather than turnstyles is a major cop out to proper organisation.

But by far and away the worst thing was our supposed 'own' robbing each other.

There was a least one organised group stood in the middle of the fan area after the first gate near the station. A group of 6-7 lads aged 15-20 with what could have only been their dads/older brothers (meaty bastards) spotting for them. They kept snatching tickets and then changing t-shirts etc.

There was only three of us so we just kept warning fellow fans and whenever we saw one one the run, trying to take the ****er out. But the dads clocked us and we moved on to the next gate so as to avoid a kicking.

UEFA and the club will never do anything about this, we need to start policing it ourselves - making it widely known that anyone who gets caught gets a kicking!

Bit aggressive I know, but I'm so pissed off and ashamed of our own. That was my first final and it has a really sour taste because of this.

Finally, those with dodgy tickets contributed directly to the danger, confusion and damaging of our reputation. You might have thought you were getting a good deal but you lead to fans with legitimate tickets being locked out - SCUM.

...I don't recall ever condoning that did I? I actually said you had a fair point about the ethics of stealing tickets from children, and how such inhumane actions would haunt those people for the rest of their lives and how it would be a Greek tragedy to those poor kids if, like you say, we never compete for another trophy ever again.

Thats funny 'cos I dont know a single one and I've been following Chelsea for over 40 years. Twat

...I know 4, and I've been to more Chelsea games than them. I think the term is PWNED

...because they couldn't fill their ticket allocation anyway?

...your club didnt win the league for what, 50 years? It was such a big deal they even had a commemorative kit for it! Hey look! We've gone a whole hundred years and won 2 league titles!

And by the way, you started the schoolboy taunts, I'm just stooping to your level.

PS, I am a schoolboy. I should be revising for A Levels, but this is far more entertaining.

One more thing. It is completely clear you started this topic with the full intention of besmirching Liverpool's reputation. You said so yourself, we're moronic scouse bindippers.

Thats not venom mate, its a good post. Hearing it from a REAL fan's point of view. You gotta feel sorry for guys like him, being painted with the same brush as the scum that he was talking about.

I'll agree that those people are scum, but I just don't like the way you started off this thread. You're being a little more impartial now though.

I didn't need to besmirch Liverpools rep mate. You do that without any help from any other clubs fans.

Get this straight too. You sunshine, are whats called a NEWBIE OK? So until you know me better, do not assume anything about me. Itis NOT my style to start ANY topics, let alone start a topic that will attract moronic newbies like yourself, all for the sake of an argument.

And if you want to include yourself along with those cowardly wankers who steal tickets from children, then yes you are a moronic bin dipper. If you do not condone what they did, then why imply that the insult was aimed at you?

See.....contradiction. Think before you post.:mexican:

I did actually say at the begginning of the thread, "A small minority once again blacken the name of another English club. " That should have told you that this is not a dig at LFC as a whole.

Point 1: How did I besmirch Liverpool's reputation?

Point 2: I may have only just started posting on here, but I've been viewing this website for a long, long time. Sorta like a footy-forum paedophile. :$

Point 3: Why do I imply the insult was aimed at me? Because I am a Liverpool fan and you're a Chav. Ergo you hate us. Ergo you're bitter.

Point 4: Isn't an argument what you wanted? You must've known there must be some Reds fans on this forum? As a Reds fan, am I not allowed to express this angle of the *discussion*, or is it not allowed because you disagree with it? You didn't even respond to my suggestion that UEFA should've given us some more tickets.

Aye can you shut the **** up please.

Milan fans didn't get anymore tickets then Liverpool, you moron so stop acting like such a little scouser.

At the end of the day its no one but the fans who took part in this stupidties fault. Just look at what the other liverpool fan said on his own boards.

Just read this other view from the Vital football network. From a Chelsea fan as a matter of fact.

http://www.chelsea.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=68219

Have English fans ever been treated any differently throughout Europe? I remember many incidents on my travels with Chelsea that make me sit here, amazed that I lived through some of it. Some incidents provoked by morons but a hell of a lot of them provoked by the police.

A good article. Pretty much agree with him.

SafHossain03 ....not really interested in a personal conversation with you mate, only on your views concerning the thread title.

OH yeah....point 3? Do not assume anything about anyone. Is ergo your word of the moment?.....and do you actually know what a chav is?

Point4?......I have many mates on these forums who are Liverpool fans. They do not have to assume anything about me because THEY KNOW ME. Do you see them taking a defensive mode because a thread involves LFC? Chill out and calm down mate because you will not wind me up at all. Been around too long for that.:mexican:

Ok, there were problems with Liverpool having fake tickets and tickets being stolen. That is of course a problem the Liverpool board will have to take actions against so they don't get repeated, instead of acting like nothing is wrong, which seems to be their position at the moment.

Yes, Liverpool fans were at fault, though you can't blame all fans for the actions of some morons. UEFA is at fault too, though to a lesser extent. Having a final staged in a place where you can't control tickets correctly is not smart.

Comparing Liverpool's situation with Milan's is also not quite the best thing to do. Just like Istanbul in 2005, most of the fans were Liverpool's. If you have more fans of team A than team B and the same amount of tickets for both sides, you'll expect more trouble from team A. That doesn't mean I condone the actions of the idiots who stole tickets/got into the stadium without one.

All I can think about now is thank God it wasn't Liverpool vs. Man Utd.

EDIT: Didn't UEFA give Liverpool some sort of award for having the best fans in Europe in 2001?

Didn't Platini praise Liverpool fans after the semi-finals? And before the final Gaillard said this:
Uefa's director of communications William Gaillard said he was confident European football's biggest night of the year would not be wrecked by crowd trouble, but warned that ticketless fans would be turned away tomorrow night.

"They have been told their chance to get in is very, very small," he said. "But we have taken all the measures it is possible to take, including co-ordination with all the different police forces.

"The two groups of supporters have a tradition of good behaviour and at this point we are expecting that to continue."

the copied and forged tickets were the problem. Why didnt they use secret chips or somethin inside real tickets. and the forged ones would be invalid. Uefa are not as smart as they think
