UEFA Champions League Final - AC Milan vs. Liverpool FC

I find it interesting going through this thread from Milan being up 3-0 and everyone stating it's over to what actually happened... Milan played better and dominated for much of the game with the exception of the second half which was a battle. The difference was that Milan didn't finish their opportunities (e.i. Shevchenko in the last few minutes of the second OT.) Liverpool did what they had to do and they are the champions of europe... I tip my cap even though I don't own one, lol. I really hope they get into the CL next season, they should be allowed to defend their championship.

Since when does ball possesion indicate the winner of a match?

What does that mean??? Let me elaborate... Milan was the better team for most of the game... But Liverpool did what they had to do and finished when they needed too.

at last

Jerzy Dudek, my favourite GK was player of the game.after1st half i couldnt believe that Liverpool can score any goal, after 2nd goal i believe that, match was really fantastic like Champions League Final, and like 50th editon of CL.

i reallyhappy that Dudek show us some good intervention at 2nd half (free kick, Shevo double shot, etc) bc some times ago in english newspaper they wrote to many bad thinks about Dudek and anythink about other defenders , who mades mistakes. if liverpool lost 3:0 i am sure that english newspaper also can write only about bad intervention by Dudek, but in my opinion Defenders made mistakes in every 3 goals for Milan.

Now my champion are hero. Go go Dudek !!!!

Benitez a tactical mastermind, hell yeah.

1) The Hamann substitute. Gave Gerrard a licence to go forward and i think Hamann is one of the best their is at playing in the holding role. Unsung hero.

2) Won the mid-field battle, Alonso and Hamann had Kaka in their back pocket in the 2nd half.

3) Stopped the Milan full backs getting forward, especially Cafu.

4) Sorted the offside trap out and tightened up the defence. Sheva and especially Crespo disappeared.

5) The most important of all. Never lost faith in his team and raised their heads at half time.

On the one hand I'm annoyed that Liverpool won it but then again it's great for English football and Liverpool did deserve to win it.

Strange how Liverpool are the best team in Europe yet they are the 5th best team in England :p

Liverpool had just a fantastic second half and completely earned the win. The best part of this game.... watching all of you ******* bandwagon, glory hunting, AC Milan, wannabes have your trecherous hearts ripped out (except Flyer, who's cool). Good job Liverpool, you completely earned it, and please please please don't sell Gerrard; even if Chelsea offer 200 Millions Pounds.

If the Milan fans are that passionate about their club why did they only have less than 1/3 of the crowd? Plus Milan is actually closer to Istanbul.

Liverpool fans showed last night why they're the best.

one of the greatest matches i've seen my life
6 minute mayhem we can call it

talking about united's comeback v bayermn, this one was outstanding.
3 goals against the might of Milan in 6 minutes is not a joke.

jerzy dudek produced the defining moment.
poor pens from milan.
i think the hammann substitution made it all work.he was the pivot in the 2nd half.

as much as i hate pool, i am happy that an english club has won it. so happy.
now we can set a benchmark for english to dominate europe.
chelsea getting stronger day by day.
pool have won it this year with help from master tactical rafael benitez
arsenal,if they can get 1-2 things right and
man utd if having players fit can tear apart any team in the world.

c'mon england.

congrats liverpool

that makes it 10 compared to 6 of german teams.
it says it all.

and by the way i was emphasising on the times to come. cause since last 2 seasons english club has looked likely to advance to finals.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

and by the way does that 2-1 victory over munich in 99' still enrage some fans?

That's good for you. I wanted to say that no country will dominate Europe because many teams are on a very high level.
Liverpool, Porto, Milan, Madrid, Bayern, Madrid, Man United - I don't see this changing any time soon.

Wow pure dominace. And the best is yet to come.

Yes, those Man United fans who still live in the past.
