UEFA Cup Semifinal Middlesbrough - Steaua Bucharest

So if Boro and Arsenal win that means Spurs wont qualify for either competition despite finishing 4th?, man that would be awful.

Not necessarily... Boro would take the League Cup spot that Man U doesn't need which would normally go to the 6th place team.

West Ham is in automatically with the FA Cup spot.

The remaining spot goes to the 5th place... which will be Spurs if they get bumped into UEFA by Arse winning the CL. The only other way for Spurs to lose a UEFA spot would be the unlikely scenario that Blackburn overtakes Spurs in the standings (they'd have to win all 3 remaining games and Spurs have to lose both of theirs).

Although I've seen it posted on another board that someone checked the UEFA rules and that if Boro wins the UEFA Cup they would be an extra entrant and not take one of the existing 3 spots. Trying to verify that info though.

The reason why the UEFA Cup has declined so much in popularity and level of play in the last 5 years is because the big teams just don't care anymore. It just doesn't compare with the CL in any aspect what so ever. UEFA is planning to change this however because starting next season they will increaase the UEFA Cup money prizes for games almost 50% or something like that. I read it a while ago, I wish I could find the source.
