Oh.

Hey it's being entertaining so far, chances for both however Australia had most.
Yea, we were the better team that half, yet that set piece by Uruguay, esp. the delivery from Recoba was nice.

Would love a 1-1 draw :)

Lets see Hiddink earn his money.

FT: 1-0 to Uruguay.

This tie is in the balance, Uruguay should of scored a few with that last 20minutes of play, however we should of done the same throughout the game and we dominated the first half.

On to Sydney, looking forward to it. Wednesday feels ages away.

it's still a good result for Uruguay.

Is it? I'm not so sure... Fossati's face leaving the pitch says it all.

Lopez probably won't play the next game, but Lugano and Varela will be available so I'm not worried. Hope Fossati switches Forlan for Abreu for the next game though, and god, I hope Zalayeta doesn't start...

It would suck if we have to take penalties.

Australia didn't dominate anything. Uruguay dictated the pace of the game and were unfortunate to only win 1-0. This result isn't great but it's not bad either. Lugano will be back in the defense and Montero managed to avoid being booked so Uruguay's best CB's will be paired together for the next match. The ref missed a couple of calls, particularly a penalty on Morales, but overall he was fair.

Dario Rodriguez(Y), Estoyanoff(Y), Pablo Garcia(Y), and Schwarzer(Y). The best players on the field.

Should be a great game on Wednesday. :rockman:

yeah ;) Australia won't be so defensive and if Fossati has some brains, he will leave Morales on bench and play

Carini
Diogo-Lugano-Montero-Rodriguez
Perez-Garcia
Estoyanoff-Recoba
Zalayeta-Forlan

Uruguay just need to score one goal at Sydney.

I seriously doubt Forlan will be fit to play on Wednesday...

I think Fossati will play:

Diogo, Lugano, Montero, Rodriguez
Perez, Garcia
Varela, Recoba
Zalayeta, Dario Silva

missed the first half did we :jambo:

We were unlucky to concede that freekick.... it was a bullsh*t call from the referee, but in the end it SHOULD have been defended. the first half was ours and we should have scored then... though we couldnt convert our chances and half-chances. the second half was all uruguay, bresc had a shot that nearly found the corner but that was it. vidmar and popovic's lack of pace was exposed about a billion times in the second half. how we got away with none conceded in the second half i'll never know... and given that i'll take 1-0. uruguay played dirty, but that's really to be expected.

it's definitely not over.... i just hope we dont concede

After the first 20 minutes Australia were forced to try from distance and didn't even generate any real danger.

Played dirty? Football is not a sissies game, stick to watching cricket if you found that game dirty.
