Pretty eventful and entertaining for a nin-nil game.

4 magnificent saves by Tim Howard
1 shot off the crossbar for the US
1 penalty kick for Argentina not given
1 bogus red card for Mastroeni
1 deserved red card for Mascherano
suffocating heat early, torrential downpour late, lots of physical play, attack-minded soccer... good stuff

I don't know what to say... there were stretches in this game where we almost seemed to know what we were doing. But we're still giving up the ball too easily, too many times, and would have been punished for it, if it wasn't for some heroics from Howard. On the positive side, we did have some semblance of an attack in this game. Good result overall. Bradley is giving EJ way too many chances though. I would have liked to see Cooper.

1) Cruz should never play for our NT again...

2) I feel bad for those Argentineans who paid a lot of money to see Messi and only got to see him 45 min

Great nil-nil game indeed. Totally enjoyed every minute of it. And Tim Howard was a monster..

Only curios to see how we would have performed a whole ninety minutes with Messi in there. Our defense was sure getting the job done
