Using CEP 7.0 to create .cmp patches

CEP is out guys. So do we have permission to create .cmp patches of the great leagues in CEP 7.0 so that we can import only the leagues we need and update them as necessary in our own customized FIFA 09 installation?

If the fifa.fat limit is broken this year then I don't mind keeping all of the leagues in CEP 7.0

As far as permission, he did say you can update the CEP at your own leisure so I assume it won't be a problem.

Brazil has over 6 leagues in CEP 7.0 which I guess many would not play (but this is a personal choice). If we could just have the 1st and 2nd divisons of most of the leagues, and maybe even 3rd and 4th leagues when it's required for Cups etc.

As an example, the Faroe Islands league could use banners and logos made by Scissorhands (but again, this is a personal choice), minikits have FIFA 07 textures, which maybe could be updated to the FIFA 09 texture.

You are definatly right but i see here few problems:

1. At first, its too hard to get OCKHam's patches becose he wont let you.
2. We need very good organization

I really would love to update some of the rosters, logos, banners, flags, kits & minis for some of the great leagues in CEP 7.0

EDIT: BTW i think so of the leagues have data from 2006/2007 or is it 2007-2008 season.

That the CEP Patch is for me a good idea but with a very bad conversion. That mostly of the user in the german community says, that this is a lot of rubbish. That are hard words but what have the community from a patch which is over 2GB big but have only quantity and no quality? That the EA rosters and graphics are a lot better then this.

That is my opinion and the opinion of many other user.
So is my Idea to make the good leagues completly new with the help of other soccergaming users, because we can found here all editiers which we needed for that and sowe can make the good leagues in top quality and not in top quantity.

Ok. So are we ready to stop updating the leagues already in the game and start creating new ones?

Maybe its time we create a community built career expansion patch?

Shall we ask the Soccergaming forum to come together to start creating new league patches and really get as many leagues as we can into the game?

I would really love to see some more like Faroe Islands and Hong Kong and many more...

I really am not good at editing. I can do rosters and get information for the patches but will need help in the rest when creating a patch.

I'm on board with this kind of idea. I have limited time at the moment but it is my intention to create a kind of compilation patch.

A lot of what you find in compilation patches in generic graphics. As appolox mentioned, this can be frustrating but it's important to remember the following.

A compilation patch with a league that is of the most basic quality does not negate the possibility of another user making or remaking a patch with higher quality components in it. AND if the compilation patch is done correctly, this can easily be imported using CMP patches.

However, NOT having any league at all does negate a users ability to play with those teams at all.

Basically the idea is that SOMETHING is better than NOTHING. But further improvements can be made at any time by any user.

I think the compilation part of it is probably going to have to be done on one computer (although maybe not). If you were interested in working on new leagues/teams that'd be great! If you had something else in mind let me know.

here,, all we need are just the informations about those leagues right?

Ok heres my plan. I want to hear any objections or suggestions though.

I'm going to work on importing my South African patch first. It will build on the Qatari patch I already released.

Next, lets get a team of people together to begin working on getting permission for the patches already created. We can make a list of ALL the leagues that have been made, are being made and which ones we have permission to use.

So for example. We have permission to use Russia and Ukraine from Complex1. Now we need to work on others. Once we get permission we can move forward with importing them and releasing them one by one by one to build on each other slowly.

Once we get permission for existing patches we can then decide which ones we need to redo because we didn't get permission.

After that we can start picking new leagues to do. There are a few I have in mind. Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, New Zealand etc. We can take a census and start working on them.

The important thing I think is for us to make the leagues quickly. If we dwell on one league too long we're working on a different project entirely. Here our focus is on believable quantity with an easy oportunity to improve our patch.

Here's what I"m thinking about tournaments. I want the focus to be on leagues. The more cups and tournaments we have the higher the liklihood of crashes. I have a generic simple version of the AFC Champions League in my Qatar patch... That leads into the World Club Championship. Every time we add a new asian league, we'll incorporate it into that AFC champions league rather than trying to complete the tournament entirely first. This can be done with other champions leagues as well such as CONCACAF or CAF.

I also want to refrain from using other somewhat unrelated cups at first. Domestic cups by themselves may complicate things in the short term but can be added later on.

Hopefully you guys think that's fair. With every new league added we'll consider the following things:

1) Does the league work in manager mode
2) Are teams properly being placed into their respective champions leagues
3) Does the Continental champion accurately progress to the world club championships
4) In accomplishing the above objectives, does it all still work without crashing.

I'm working on the JJB Sports Premiership (Northern Ireland) but it simply has accurate rosters, KDM kits and no minikits or flags...I don't have the time for the latter two and I'd rather make something that actually has in game use....for some reason people seem to think shiny minikits are critically important for a good patch. But the patch will be CMS standard and can be used in any patch.

Why dont you release it as a cmp patch. Maybe somehow we can improve on it.

If you can send us the Northern Ireland patch in CMP format we would be stoked to use it. I can add generic minis and flags. It will work fine. Others can improve it later if needed.
