Yeah you keep saying that but how exactly was giving a penalty for the Suarez incident a terrible and incorrect refereeing decision?

The referee calls an unfair free kick previous the penalty, i mean, it was no foul, the player of ghana dives and the reffere calls foul, it was no foul, and the penalty comes for that play, that unfair call let's Ghana the last play and the penalty comes for stopping that goal.

That's what i mean, the referee invented that free kick to allow Ghana a last chance to win the game, the penalty comes for that invented call.
The penalty was a correct call, but comes from an invented free kick from the referee.

Despite that, Ghana got the chance to win the game, wasted, and for that last chance invented from the referee, we can't count with Suarez for the semifinals.

Again, in that situation, with an unfair free kick conceded by the referee to let Ghana a last chance, i guess mostly of us would do what Suarez did, again, thanks Suarez for that!

I try to like Uruguay but the way they play is so anti-football. I couldn't help but root for Ghana instead. They played much better overall and got the short end of the stick by that hand ball. I mean, it was a smart play, but to actually try and contest it is ridiculous. I'm glad he got the red card at least.

Also, the Abreu penalty you're referring to was a good no call. He buckled the second he saw a shadow behind him. Clear overreaction dive to minimal contact. Boateng was gang tackled by three defenders in the box and that was a no call, too. So you can't use the 'we won despite of the referee' argument, because the ref was pretty even.

And the best of the game: 3 million people knowing how exactly will shoot Abreu on the last penalty, must be crazy to shoot that important penalty like that, must be crazy but must have class to do that, again Abreu with another crazy penalty, you have class and no fear man!!!

We should neither glorify nor condemn Suárez. I even think the handball was purely instinctive - the ball was going straight towards his head. In any case, here is yet another anti-hero for the history of the World Cup. Too bad that Ghana got unfairly screwed and Uruguay will be missing such an important player for the semi-final...

Yep, such a hard game will be against Holland, a great team, our is totally tired and with important missing players but surely will make a great game, glad that la celeste or the orange will be on the final!

Again, when plays la celeste, shirt it's transpired by the heart!

I hope they break this ****'s leg and his dick for that handball.
And I hope Holland rapes them (Uruguay) in the semi-final.

Better goalkeeper Suarez than Ghana's keeper, a mess in each a penalty hehe.

Again, it was a invented free kick that causing that penalty, don't blame us for fight against that robbery.
That's all, i'm happy for reaching the semifinals and also for the victory of Holland, well deserved for our teams, see ya on tuesday!

If Suarez didn't use his arm it would've been 2-1 Ghana. I feel sorry for Ghana. They deserved it much more than Uruguay.

Wow.
Is the German keeper a dick for not telling the ref that Lampard had scored?
Uruguay plays "anti football" (really? Anti Football is greece 1 shot 1 goal. Not 19 shots professor (Y) )....because they are a country the size of a small city and still managed to be the winningest nation in football history (tied with Argentina).

People here are pissed cause they wanted Ghana to win. Suarez is a legend in South America.
In France they dubbed the hand "Hand of a Hero" (as opposed to Hand of God by Diego in 86).

Go cry in your room if you don't like it. It just makes it sweeter for us :33vff3o::33vff3o::33vff3o::33vff3o:

You seem to like the chip on your shoulder.

By the way, by anti-football I mean that every time Uruguay took the lead in a game, they put all eleven players behind and defended to play the counter... the difference is that Uruguay is lucky to have two brilliant strikers, so that worked for them. It almost bit them in the ass against S. Korea, but I digress.

I dont see how they deserved it. After the goal there was nothing more. Uruguay was the better team. Then this questionable freekick with Suarez´ red. And im sorry, if you dont score that penalty, you dont deserve that win. I guess Gyan was already thinking about which dance he was gonna perform for celebration. Epic fail. Thats all it was. Typical african.

I'm not sure it would have been a goal if Suarez didn't handball. I believe it was going straight in his head.

As for the Ghanaians that are responsible for this loss, they are (in order of decisiveness):
1. Kingson: terrible performance at the penalties; he should know that if the penalty kick taker is right footed, you should dive on your left [unless you see something compromising (i.e.:he looks at a side of the goal)]. If the pk taker is left footed, you should dive on your right. It's a fact that average players shoot in the direction of their preferred foot.
2. Mensah: terrible pk; he wanted to do it with style, but, heck, he's a central defender.
3. Adiyiah: bad pk;

I have to say that Ghana's elimination left me slightly downhearted, but I'm not at all mad at Gyan. Not many have the balls to take that decisive penalty in the last play. Either you win it or lose it. **** happens.

I feel sorry for Ghana.

As a Dutchie I know how it feels to lose like that on penalty's, while deserving to win.

Seriously???

What a waste of a post...

Anyway

I don't know why everyone is tripping about Suarez, yeah it leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you lose like that. But you have to face the rules of the game.

Handball in box = Penalty (NOT AUTO Goal)

Handball in box = Red Card + FIFA suspension (Which they are deciding the length of the ban)

Suarez isn't the first to do it, and he isn't the last. I think an extended ban is a fair case for these incidents, but an automatic goal? that would be ridiculous...

I think Suarez did the right thing, he saved the match for his team by sacrificing himself. I think if anything he deserves praise for the fact he was willing to put his own tournament on the line in a last effort to save his team. it would've been a certain goal and with a deciding penalty in the last minute you never know if someone hits or misses, which showed yesterday.

Its not like he put down his own tournament for the team cause at that moment just before the handball Uruguay were pretty much out. You got to remember it was the last kick of the game.

Look at this way : No handball = no semifinal for Uruguay and Suarez....Handball gave Uruguay a chance but Suarez would still miss the semifinal but gives him a chance to play in the final.

No thank you.

We're all forgetting that this was a split-second "decision", if you could call it that, because really it was more of a reflex. As everyone is saying, he might more easily have headed it out, and not been sent off nor had to risk a penalty.

Not really. The ball hadn't crossed the line yet. It might still have bounced off his face.

Plus, even if we ignore that it was probably an accident, and say he did at least half-intentionally save it off the line with his hands, it was a gamble, for which he was punished, with both a red card, and what ought to have been Ghana's winner. Such are the rules of the sport- you can't blame him for that. Players cheat in all sorts of ways, and worse still usually go unpunished. Tevez knew he was offside, but does his not owning up make him as much of a villain as Suarez? Does the fact that Neuer didn't go "actually guys, that was a kilometre past the line" make him as bad?

I'm not convinced that Suarez deserves all this vilifying. Any other player would have gone all in to save his team, and don't forget that it was a tiny fraction of a second's decision, he didn't mull it over for week.

What's the damn point for Uruguay to pass through the semi-finals if they're going to get humiliated by the Dutch anyways in Semi-Finals. Uruguay is going to miss important players in that match. Ghana deserved that win.
