Atacking football my arse, we're not gonna beat any good teams with if we don't make changes. Obviously the offside trap doesn't work since the full backs (*cough* Friedrich *cough) havn't got the needed Basketball iq. Just stop it please.

After this game I'm actually glad we have Ballack. Play him and Frings both at dm and let them go forward when necessary. The defense needs more support from the midfielders.

I can't believe Bayern let Schweinsteiger rot on the bench almost all season long.

I think that on the first goal the place it got paused at Wanchope was onside by the smallest possible margin, but I think they paused it slightly before the pass, therefore Wanchope would have been off when the ball was actually struck.

On the second one it seems clearly offside.

Wanchope was onside on the first, and clearly offside on the second one. Deserved win for Germany. Not too much of a comforting display for the Germans, but it's always nice to start with a win. They conceded twice to a very fragile side tho, and that's something to worry about.

Very, very nice goal by Frings. What a cracker of a shot.

Klinsmann must do something about that defence, or else we may see a shocker versus Ecuador on 20 Jun . Except for that, nothing actually unusual for Germany. And kudos for Lahm's Le Tissier moment .

Great show for neutral spectators, but our defense gave me repeated heart attacks. FFS, Friedrich.... Bad thing is, we don't have any alternantives. Huth out of shape, Nowotny too old. Just as long as we score more than we concede...

What an opener! Pleasantly surprised by Costa Rica but you can really tell most of their players play club football in central America, the overall pace of their game was much slower than what we see in Europe.

Germany impressed, if they can tighten up the defence a bit and build on their confidence then I can see them making the last 4 for sure.
