Poor Nedved, he played his heart out. The Czechs seem to have lost a lot of confidence with the injuries and everything that's happened since their first game.
They had more than an hour since Materazzi scored to play themselves back into the game, yet it was Italy who kept coming closest to scoring their second until Pippo did.
Both goals came from substitutes, both Milan players.

Italy are looking good atm, they're not playing the best football but they look very hard to beat, the only goal they've conceded was an og. Australia/Croatia will need something really special to trouble the Italians.

I thought the Czech's were pretty unlucky this tourny. Having bascially none of your top 3-4 forwards to choose from for most of the tournament makes life really difficult. Add to that 2 red cards in subsequent games, makes the idea of going through almost impossible. And also being drawn in arguably the toughest group doesnt help matters either.

A healthy Czech team would have faired much better IMO. Being a small country really hurts the depth of the squad.

One thing that I'm not liking from this world cup is the abundance of yellows and subsequent reds. Refs have been giving second yellow cards way too easy for my liking.
