HA! he kicked himself and probably said, damn contact! time to act!.

Anyway glad Chile got thru they derserved more from this match where it not for that keeper mistake and too much fouling.

In difference to Korea-Japan in 02 where there was a lot of surprises, this tournament at least to me it doesnt seem like some of the top teams are getting hustled or the small teams being 'helped' along by bad calls, it just looks like other supposedly inferior teams have gotten better, that can only be good. While top teams just either suck, or have lots a sense of what it means to be in the world cup.

Anyway, hoping for good footy in the second round

On Brazil v. Portugal: while lack of motivation to push certainly played a part in making the game a bore, it should be noted that other than for Robinho and Kaká (when they are in good form, that is) this Brazilian team is completely inept when it comes to playmaking. If Portugal had more threatening forwards they could easily have won it while hardly running any risk. By the way, Júlio Baptista was beyond awful but wasn't replaced up to 80' because we simply do not have any other central attacking midfielder...

Elano at AM, Ramires at RM?

Don't think Elano quite fits the bill as a playmaker but at least he is in good form. He was injured today and trying it would be way too radical a change for Dunga, but it would certainly have been better than Júlio Baptista. Hell, after Ramires entered the game frigging Daniel Alves was playing as CM...

The first thing I noticed when Dunga selected this team:

There 8 ******* DMs.
Plus Michel Bastos and Gilberto who had played in the position before.
Júlio Baptista started there. And Daniel Alves has played there under Dunga.

Which means there 12 out of 23 players who can play DM.
The rest are 3 GK, 3 strikers and 4 defenders and 1 CAM.

Ridiculous.

There's clearly contact. Funny how the poor Chilean is looking in completely the opposite direction.

Torres' reaction is a shame though. More so the way he stayed down for ages. Then again he is also made of glass these days.

Oh wow!! I though he had touched him at least.. what a pathetic display by Torres...

I hope they don't reach the final now...
What are you guys watching? Estrada knocks Torres' right foot to the left with his knee, causing him to trip. It was unintentional, but he definitely makes contact.

Lol at Torres. I hope Portugal beats these fools.

Chile is a mega-******* team. You're looking at the future stars.

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Okay there is a bit of contact.. still unintentional and not deserving of a yellow card. Have to give it to Torres though, he really sold it well.

Torres quite clearly has his trailing leg knocked which results in him tripping himself up. His right foot hooks around his left. Not a dive. Not sure if you would class it as a foul though.

It looked to me that at the feeling of contact he fell like he had been shot. So in a way, it was basically a dive, because he reacted after he was touched, took step then fell down hard.

Horrible call by the ref regardless, whether that was a foul or not, it sure as hell isn't for a yellow when it's away from the play.

Btw, I thought Beausejour was very clever and dangerous in the first half. I wonder if we'll see him heading to a European club soon.
