WC Matchday 2: [KOR Vs GRE] + [ARG Vs NIG] + [ENG Vs USA]

Meh I dont know what you wanted to see then...This was the best game of the cup so far. The early stages of the Argie-Nigeria was good too and many portions of the Korea vs Greece; except of course if you omit that Greece were uterly horrible.

If this wasnt good enough, then I am afraid nothing short of 4-3 scores will not satisfy. It was lively match, some good indivodual efforts and drama and tension to the end. Good match!

I thought it was an ugly game at best and wasn't impressed with either side. I think I can say that after playing Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and Holland over the past year and a half, England is not in the same class as those teams I just mentioned. We didn't play near as well as we did in the Confed Cup and we still got a result although we were a bit lucky, but then so was England.

I dont want to be a pain in the ass about this "boring" "not boring" scene. But once again:

* First half was OK;
* Second half:
-Almost 45 minutes of long failing passes;
-No creativity to create a play or making consecutive passes;
-A lot of failed passes and when i say failed im not saying a pass that was intercepted by the opponent, im saying passes that were completly the opposite direction that the player wanted;
-Have to congratulate Capello, undesrtood the routine of the 2nd half ( long passes after long passes ) and put in Crouch;
- Altidore was the best thing in the 2nd half;
- England was.... not England;
- USA was the team that was trying to do something at the 2nd half;

I gave my reasons, so dont come with that attitude of "I am afraid nothing short of 4-3 scores will not satisfy", its stupid. If you're happy with the game good for you, im not the only one who disliked it, so dont crucifice me if i didnt like the match.

If i was a England supporter i would be damn angry with the perfomance, but its okay if you dont agree, i respect that.

I liked the USA match more than the Argentina match. The USA one was more back and forward where both teams showed skill in attack, defense and tactics. Argentina just played with a bunch of free role attackers that tried to dribble and play one-twos. While some of it looked nice it was weird tactically and they weren't very effective with their high possession.

Argentina should have scored atleast 3 goals vs nigeria.. disappointed but oh well
Im glad we got the three points...

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
Yellow Card
1. Maradona needs to go with Sergio Aguero and Milito instead of di Maria and Higuain.

2. The US is going to be in a dogfight with Slovenia and especially Algeria for 2nd place in this group. The chasing pack is not separated by much. Algeria is more than capable of snatching it.

3.

....Wright-Phillips and Lennon... Man, they were awful.

They both created some chances....it's the first game of the World ****ing Cup! Neither are world beaters....they BOTH need a few games to get going. Plus, with Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson being as attack minded as they were, Lennon and SWP's contribution was slightly overshadowed and not as heavily relied on as if those two just sat back. But they weren't awful.

The bigger concerns are Ledley King's injury and the amount of time required by Garreth Barry to be 100% fit......James Milner couldn't deal with the pressure.

US - England game was a spectacle only because of the intensity. In reality, it was a very ugly game, but I couldn't look away. Green **** the bed hardcore there, basically a free goal, but then again England didn't deserve to win this game at all, they were awful.

I'm getting kinda concerned... it seems like teams can't score goals. What the hell? Maybe I'm expecting too much from last World Cup, but it seems like every team is under performing thus far. I hope it improves in the coming days when Germany, Netherlands, Brazil and Spain.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of goals just yet, the teams that can really light up the scoreboard haven't played yet. For one thing, Klose always bags 4 or 5 in the Group stages.

Onyewu was a monster. MOM for me. Rooney was so ineffective. I dunno why capello brought off heskey. He was surprisingly causing some trouble to the US defence... I would have brought off rooney.

how could anyone believe England will actually be favorites at this World Cup ? National Team of England is characterised by one word - pathetism and they can't get over their limited condition.

Lol the english goalkeeper saga continues....unbelievable.

Basic bloody mistake, goalkeepers are taught that they should always put their body behind the ball, so if you fumble - your body blocks it.

Being torn to shreds in the papers today - not going to be good for his confidence. I find it rediculous that in the entire nation we don't have a goalkeeper who can maintain concentration and focus for a full 90 minutes.

Everyone wants more goals obviously but I would rather have a balanced match where both teams look like they are gonna score rather than a completely one sided match.
