For the first time in years we seem to have that "Italy" vibe. Playing bad, but getting results, it's been like that since Van Basten took over. Our defence needs more experience (Boula, Mathijsen, Heitinga) but they're looking great so far.

hey, we have something in common.. our flair and attractive football seems to have dissapeared since Scolari took over. :( oh well, we really can't complain though..

You forgot Turkey mate.

Now its funny you should mention those countries man, because they do exactly the same thing. Its a mainland Europe thing and a latino thing. Being an island we do not get so contaminated by the rest of Europe. We manage to keep a sense of fair play, and still generally frown upon those aspects of sport. Maybe its that hot sun beating down on your heads or something i dont know but you sure all think in a wierd way.
Racist.

Overall, disgraceful thread. Quite amusing though :funny:

In midfield is where our problems lie. We don't have a Riquelme, Gerrard, Beckham, Ballack, Ronaldinho, Zindane or whoever. We lack creativity.
I think you have that creative man in Van Der Vaart. Too bad your coach preferred Van Bommel :(

I was considering to share my thoughts about this match, but after reading posts like Silencer's or Pede's I think it's just not worth it.

Looking forward to the match vs. England :corn:
Costinha and Deco are out?
big f'cking deal, we move Figo to the middle, put Simão in the wing and replace Costinha with Petit. Should be enough to put up a good fight.

Ronaldo will recover, I'm pretty confident that his thigh is just sore from the impact and will get better before Saturday.

Hmm... anyways...

Houve muita vinhaça aki em casa!!!

My father was keeping a Dão on his wine-cellar, for this occasion... :D

Today, ironically, it's 25th of June, Independence Day here in Mozambique... so one countrymen was saying that he was ashamed that so many mozambicans were happy for Portugal's victory... but really, if we want to be truly independent, we have to beat our complexes and resentments... and fo real, many mozambicans are cheering for Portugal!!! And the NT has nothing to do with the colonialists... some people just can't get over it! But it's understandable... but ok, sorry for the off-topic! We can continue the celebrations now:

kay, couple of things..

Miguel is a tank, f*cking neutralized Robben the whole game. Dutch fans should be proud of Van Persi, I was impressed by his display, definately a skilled footballer *claps*

The ref was complete utter garbage, hopefully FIFA doesn't allow him to officiate anymore international matches.

For all the Dutch fans who:

1. Talked **** before the game;
2. Continue to flame, whine and complain about the game;
3. Who are too naive too see how dirty Holland played (I'm not denying Portugal's poor discipline either); and,
4. Talk **** about POrtugal, our NT and our Coach

VAI TE FUDER. This one's on me :junior:

For all the mature Dutch fans who come on here and admit both teams played terribly :rockman:

This game really sucked ass, but it was emotional nonetheless.

Van persie was amazing, he cut and turned 3 different times and 3 portuguese defenders just fell to the ground, a shame he didnt score that though :(

Will FIFA take any action against teams/coaches/players/etc? Today's match was not a very good example of "Fair Play".

FIFA's president comments about the match were the ref had no pulse to officiate such a game and keep it under control. He also there were too many cards hand out for average fouls which ruined the game. He said his people will review the evidence to see if any further action will be taken on players and russian official and his crew.

Ok now the question about the friction between Portugal and Holland probably goes back to WC2002 qualifing were we knocked them out from going to Japan/Korea in a very hard fought match also down to injury time, and Euro04 semis also of course.
