As much as I would NOW like to see Germany win it all, Italy 2:0 Germany. The Italians will kill off the game where Argentina could not.

Similar run to to championship in Spain '82 for Italy. A recent soccer scandal at home was around (I believe AC Milan was relegated following a betting scandal in '80). Italy struggled a bit in group play and wasn't considered a threat until the elimination round when catanaccio was combined with a flurry of goals from a pure goal scorer, Mr. Rossi. Best defense in the tournament this year by far. Toni breaks out for 2 more in the next game and Italy go on to win against France in the final. 
Germany are hosting the WC to win the trophy.
But Italy used to be tough...but boring lol -Italian guys will go mad-
I mean by boring that they always play defensively as long as they are winning.
They rarely play an open game, or attacking football.
They fight & play great games when they r losing or tied.
Anyway, They are tough & defending is not a shame..!

If Gattuso risks a ban, then Germany will be able to count on Torsten Frings for Tuesday’s clash. The player was caught on camera punching Julio Cruz during the melee that followed the quarter-final penalty shoot-out with Argentina, but FIFA have announced they won’t be taking disciplinary action against him.
"Two years ago the Danish cameras caught Totti spitting at Christian Poulsen and that footage was used to inflict a ban. This time our television spotted the punch, but I don't want to cause controversy," added the former Rangers star.

i saw the italians live. it will be not easy, but we CAN win. they had many problems with some corners, ukraine just didnt scored because the header wasnt good from kalinechenko (?)

they got some ****ti goals in the first 10 minutes then larson failed to convert a penalty which would have given the momentum to Sweden would have put pressure on Germany to hold onto a not so comfortable lead... seemed kinda lucky to me.

FIFA have announced that German midfielder Torsten Frings could be suspended for the semi-final against Italy.
The player was caught on camera apparently throwing a punch at Inter’s Julio Cruz during the melee that followed Argentina’s quarter-final exit on penalties.
Leandro Cufrè was red-carded after the final whistle and Maxi Rodriguez is under investigation. At first, FIFA said that no action would be taken against the Germans, but Sky Italia provided the footage to re-open the investigation.
“Following new evidence coming to light, the disciplinary committee have opened a case against the German player Torsten Frings who they are considering played an active role in the incident at the end of the match,” explained FIFA spokesman Markus Siegler this evening.
“The German Federation and the player have until 10am on Monday morning to submit a written explanation. Because of the urgency of the situation, a decision will be announced by the Disciplinary Committee on Monday afternoon.”
Italy take on World Cup hosts Germany on Tuesday evening in Dortmund with a place in the Final at stake.

You gotta love how the Italian players and papers are already bitching before the kickoff. They want Frings to be suspended as the same thing happened to Totti in 2004. Cry me a river and mind your own business jeez...:boohoo:
Like I stated in an other thread, imo Germany matches up better with Italy than with the Argies. Metzelder and Mertesacker shouldn't fear the likes of Toni, Gilardino, Iaquinta and company.
