we need a new cc

As I already posted somewhere else, saterday I made some transfers and updated about 70 players and the game crashed at the 'press any key'-screen. Yesterday, I thought that I' give the cc one last shot: I transferred two players and updated 26 players. Once the same problem when I played the game. How the hell can this happen? I'm having serious doubts about the testing of the cc. Are these guys like:
"Hey, we have to test that cc today."
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot."
"Okay,I'll make ONE transfer and update ONE player and then you start the game to see if it doesn't crash..... Okay, I'm done. Start the game."
"Okay, it works: the cc works. Pfff, I'm exhausted, let's go have a beer."

It even crashes with back-ups of older updates that used to work. I already had to switch off my pc 5 times today using the power button, which isn't every good for your pc as you all may know. I just hope that it didn't cause any other problems to my pc. Because if it did, I may have to spend some money and for what: because this program still isn't bugfree

I tried again with replacing the db files with the ones of the sweetpatch roster update, once again the same problem. And surprise surprise: when restarting and logging myself on again, the pc crashed and started rebooting from itself So please fix this and maybe try to release something that has less bugs before we all have major problems with our pc's. Do you think you could do that?

i know it is frustrating but if u dont get it to work and there aint a way to fix it,dont use it,u just get so angry u will "smack"your pc!

It's been posted numerous times - do not expect to be able to use the CC with any user created patches, whether they're Sweetpatch updates, Raptors, etc.

Uninstall FIFA completely - including deleting the files in the //My Documents/FIFA 2005 folder. Re-install both FIFA and the CC - and no other patches.

What are your PC specs? What OS are you running? Could you have a language conflict with the machine and CC?

I've added 19 clubs to the RoW folder, 4 extra countries to the Intl folder, have created new 12-team and 10-team leagues and have made every transfer/new player for MLS and the CC is working fine.

I can't report a bug if it doesn't occur.

I'm guessing it's something with your system. Try updating all your drivers and make sure you have the Microsoft program that the CC requires.

As i aam a tester for Chau i find that comment rather offensive. I spent a good 20-30 hours testing everything i could think of so don't play that one. If you are so against the CC why dont you make a better editor. Or why dont you become a tester. Actions Speak louder than words

I have to agree on that.
It is always frustrating if something doesn't work , but testing 100% is never possible.
I do some testing for my company on firmware for security equipment and you will never reach a 100% score on bug testing.
There are a lot of components which can influence a program's functionality , like hardware and software installed.
It is very important to read the conditions carefully before using CC.After that it will work rather ok for a lot of people.
Hint : what I always do while i am experimenting with editing is backup the whole fifa folder when I am sure something works okay.You can edit in phases and you can always go back to the last working edited fifa.

I feel some people would just need to listen to you instead of moaning about how bad CC 2005 is all the time.

Since the fix came out I experienced almost no problems. Sometimes CC makes a corrupted save (starts saving, then quits to desktop; causing FIFA05 to CTD from the "press any key" screen), but with repeated saving I can solve the problem.

So far I did 72 teams (27 African, 16 Asian, 10 CONCACAF, 7 S. American, 12 European - trying to finish all European international teams), all of them are working.

So I think Chau and the testers made a good work. Appreciated!

No, you can't, believe me I tried it. Whatever back-up I used, none of them worked

Make one transfer , save and play.
If that one works , go further.
If one transfer will cause a crash , then there is something else going on.
On this moment I am deleting all fifa2005 files , and install again because my game crashes at a certain moment.
I want to see at what level of changes a crash will happen.
I think for each computer there is a level you can reach by editing before crashing.
Some games will never crash , other ones crash almost directly (yours).

I'll try this: editing players with unidb and transfers with cc and I'll take your advise and do it step by step

when it crashes on the press any key screen, u only have to run the new version of fatbh (www.socceraccess.com)...it solved that problem to me. instead of having some bugs, imo chau made a good job

I noticed now that it makes difference if you have edited and transferred let's say 10 players (2 with imported faces) saved and play and it crashes ; then save again in CC and it works fine.
Don't ask why but it works.

ive been using chau`s new version of the cc for a while and i would recommend to make your transfers from inside the game itself. As for editing players it hasnt given me any hazzle

It says do you want to save it in FAT and someothere files, when i click yes, it fvcks up all me games and makes the screenflicker, so do you need to create FAT and that other file ?
