So let me get this straight,
In the US, you have a constitution right to bear arms, but not smack your kids.
Seems bizarre... What about a rifle butt every so often?

Well, it's not illegal and there's no law against it. However, a spanking can be interpreted as abuse by someone that may not like it and can used as a reason to call the cops on you. One thing that bothers me is how every year I seem to see new studies that focus on spanking and child development. The usual conclusion being that spanking will lead to a child being abusive, alcoholic, drug user... well you get the idea.

If they don't have some discipline then they are unlikely to live long enough to grow up and become an alcoholic/drug user/being abusive...

Our country is becoming "pussified", it fucking disgusts me.

Smacking your kids isn't against the law as long as it isn't excessive I believe. Why would it be a right to beat your kids, why would something like that be in the constitution?

I always thought shitty parenting leads to children being abusive, alcoholic, drug user's.

You'll probably find that parents who hit their kids tend to be shitty parents. Not necessarily because they hit them, but because they don't know how to deal with them in any other way or lack the patience to do so. It's much easier to to just smack the kid in the head if he does something wrong rather than sit them down and explain it to them and punish them in a way that is instructive.

I think there is a time and a place for everything. Excessively beating your kids is not going to work but I don't think there is anything wrong with laying down the law with a good spanking and most likely once the child understands the consequences of his or her actions you wont need to spank them ever again. Its all about consequences and the earlier children learn there are consequences attached to every decision they make then better off they will be, IMO.

Yes, but kids who are hit once or twice do not develop the same problems as those who are beaten often. You can see it in public. A child is being a pain in the ass and the mother is stressd out and on edge so she hits him to make him stop. She'll hit him no matter what he does, because she doesn't have the energy, patience, time or other to educate him in a different way.

I agree, cant stand it when I'm in the grocery store and women scream at their kids and beat them in front of everyone, its uncomfortable.

If you actually learnt to comprehend English properly, you would be able to read between the lines and see that he was trying to express an opinion that he was so young, he hadn't even reached the stage doing what teens do....

Just to follow up on this, his response was an example of post-boosting because he did not answer the question in the original post of the thread. Post-boosting is not penalized as it used to be. Slackness on the parts of the moderators.

FYI.

Like I said, he actually did answer the question, but you were unable to understand it because it required a limited level of English comprehension.

Please do not falsely accuse other members through your own stupidity.

Since you have de-railed this thread and I have had to expend time addressing your baseless accusations, your post has been deemed off-topic and you have therefore been awarded an infraction.

Thank you.

I know when I first discovered SG it was to find Keegan's thread to get more boots, and some kitmaker for FIFA 09...so yeah that alone should let you know how sad my life was at that point.

What did make me join were Yoss's posts.

You're welcome. :rockman:

I discovered this site after high school. I was involved with FIFA-CONCACAF which was a partner with SG but it eventually folded when the other members got lives.

In late 2008 after Bank of America absorbed Countrywide Financial I was laid off along with roughly 60,000 other employees. I spent most of 2009 fucking around with FIFA until the job market came back so I owe all my modding skills to the collapse of the U.S. financial and banking markets. Thank you SG!

haha great story. so you were one of the people that Blagojevich was fighting for in that press conference before he was removed as governer. i also did most of my modding when Fifa 10 came out, late 2009 early 2010, when I was out of work that winter. we had snowstorm after snowstorm and most days I would just test fifa 10 gameplay. it was like my job that winter LMAO. good times good times.
