Which is the best Canadian province?

I voted Newfounland because a friend of mine lives there.

Otherwise, it's an island at the edge of Canada, with nothing to do there but just fish and live in the snow and cold. Like Alaska.

I have been living in Newfoundland since 2009. There is not just "fishing and live in the snow and cold" here lol. There's a bit more than that. Lots of hiking trails, iceberg watching, whale watching in the summer, kayaking etc.

Weather is usually not the best but winters are generally mild compared to the other province. For example, it has been raining for the past 2 weeks now and its January while in Toronto, weather is -20. Temperature rarely gets below -10. That being said, there is a snow storm tomorrow. Lots of snow and rain is what makes the weather bad. Summer is great (not too hot, not too cold compared to Toronto where you sweat in 35 degres celcius) but Spring is pretty crappy, almost feels like winter.

The WORST is British Columbia. Well, maybe not quite, Manitoba is by all accounts an absolute hell hole.

As much as I love cowboy culture, I get the impression Alberta is not a lot of fun.

I hear good things about Nova Scotia (I want to live here next year), NB and Newfoundland. Quebec is full of fucking french, horribly biased towards itself, greedy and a plague on Canada's budget, but I imagine still very fun to party in.

Ontario for some reason makes me think of Illinois. One dominant city with some smaller ones that have chips on their shoulders and some grass.

Nah, it's sort of a lame duck joke, actually. I suppose there are some Canadians who might take offense, but most of us realize it's such a ridiculous statement that we just sort of chuckle and roll our eyes.

Yep. It wasn't the most thoughtful line. Akin to me telling New Zealanders that they live in the 7th Australian state.

If someone legitimately thought it true though, that would be much more offensive. Where's Hisashi when you need him?

Atlantic Canada has always been more intriguing to me than Western Canada. I really want to visit PEI, and maybe New Brunswick. I actually do know Ontario is really nice though, I know an avid fisherman who I won't even mention Canada to because he'll go on for hours about Ontario.

Isn't Canada just a state/province of the USA?

Isn't the province of Quebec just a state/province of France?

Isn't the American state of Louisiana just a state/province of France?
