Who do you think is the most overated player in your team at the minute?

Nani is not overrated. Most United fans hate him, despite his assists and goals. Kagawa is overrated. Everyone talk about how hardworking he is but as an attacking midfielder, I expect more goals and assists. Hopefully he will deliver after a few months. He is already showing some promise. That assist in the Braga game was fantastic. He is a Park Ji Sung standard of player IMO. Maybe a bit better and he will probably get even better.

EDIT: Ferdinand, yeah probably him too. Still solid defensively but very slow to react. I think he was always a bit overrated TBH.

I'm gonna go with Joe Allen. Yeah he knows how to pass a ball, and he can keep possession, but how many of this passes actually... do something? Think he needs a few more assists before we all start referring to him as a god.

Thoughts?

Allen is not a last pass man, he's an advantages generator

Exactly, Modric started his carrer as a last 25 meters player but has evolved into a deeper midfielder, he has better synergies with Alonso, and Özil with forwards.

To be fair, Modric rarely got assists or goals either, but there's no doubting his quality.

Not sure if you're replying about Kagawa or Allen. I agree that Allen's role is not to make assists. He is a good passer that is needed to make the transition from defense to attack.

Kagawa plays right behind the striker unlike Modric so he should be regularly setting up players for goals. That's what he was bought for and he had a lot of hype when he came in. He was compared to Hazard and Cazorla but hasn't had the same impact as these 2.

I was referring to Allen. In general terms, I'd agree that the further up the pitch you go, the more directly responsible for goals and vice versa. I'll repeat: in general terms.

I think Alves is thought of as a defender because the football culture has a 4-at-the-back perference and so he's lumped in there. Looking at positional heatmaps, I don't think Alves would ever be anything more defensive than a wingback. Defender in name, not in occupation.

Starting to hear these complaints about Javi Martinez in the Bayern forum. Position and possession are important in the back of midfield. This isn't 1972.
