Work Permit

Why is it, that if I buy a player like, say, Crespo from Chelsea as Man Utd, he still needs a work permit even though he's already playing for an English club?

I believe its because work permits are conditional on immigration knowing where you work so they can ensure you are employed in the country. If you change positions you would likely have to go through the process again.

yeh, i think you have to go through the process when they sign a new contract as well.

And it doesn't matter that much, as those players are mostly have enough caps to get a WP. So it only takes a little more time than with a EU-player to get him that's all.
